just checking - ALL parts can go into the dishwasher for cleaning? Except the actual machine of course :)
-
LOL re the machine - I put mine in the dishwasher if I need to (ie have cooked a meat meal etc that needs a good clean) or others have used it and not cleaned it (and of course cleared out of the house so can't be made to clean it grrr :-)) :-)) ) as I just DON'T do dishes :-[ :-[ :-[ it is a personal choice really. I know some people wouldn't dream of putting theirs in the dishwasher :) I think mine has seen the dishwasher maybe 4 or 5 times in the 12 months that I have had it.

we don't, but mainly because we don't have room for that sort of thing!

Re the machine - I think marmee means the base - and no, that doesn't go, but all the other parts can in the new machines. The older ones had blades that got water in the mechanism if they went into the dishwasher.

Hi Everyone,
Remember that all of the polypropylene parts should go on the top shelf :)
Cheers,

What if you have a 2-drawer dishwasher Karen3?

It's best to make your own dishwashing detergent if you're going to wash your bowl in the dishwasher too (see Bron's recipe under "Non Food Recipes" )
The dishwasher stuff we get here in Australia is corrosive and over time with corrode the elemets on the bottom of the bowl that control the heat.
Something to keep in mind...

If you have an enclosed heating element, then it is ok on the bottom (nothing gets melted when it is enclosed I can vouch for that :-)) ) I love the dishwasher goo but my dishwasher doesn't so we have to alternate. My dishwasher is very sensitive (NEVER recommend it >:() and if I do too many goo loads in succession it has a hissy fit and claims that it is blocked up and dirty and won't work (actually is a service call to get fixed :-)) but I have a fantastic service man who showed me how to fix it lol) still very annoying :(

Thanks for the answer Kathryn - I had no idea about 2 drawer dishwashers.
