Hi there,
I've been lurking these forums and thought I'd better get on and say hi..
I've had my Thermomix for a week now and have had some great successes and some epic fails.
I had it in my head that nothing fails in the TX so was a little disheartened with things not working out, so joining this forum will help me tweak some recipes and get new recipes that have been tried and tested.
I have 4 boys, 2 of them being really fussy eaters so am looking forward to finding some recipes that cater for the whole family.
Look forward to learning more and gaining some more confidence with my TX.

Hi Madhouse, welcome to the forum. Guess your forum name describes how your house is on most days with 4 boys :D Most of us had fails to begin with especially if we were using recipes from the books. Tried and true recipes that have been tested and tried by others and reviews given are a much better option. We do have a recipe review section (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?board=48.0) from all the books though so always check that before trying a recipe.

Welcome Madhouse. I love your forum name. As Judy said we all experience fails at the beginning, and I still do occasionally. Check out the recipes on here and see what others have said about them Happy thermomixing.

Hello madhouse and welcome. Like you I thought I would never fail with my tmx. But it happens and you move on and learn as you go. Things do get better. Most of the popular recipes on here are fail safe. If I am cooking from the EDC I read the review page to see what tweaks other members suggest. Just love the way we all learn together. Happy cooking :)

Hi and welcome Madhouse! :D When we first got our TMX, I was terrified of over-chopping, over-cooking, over-mixing, over-filling.... needless to say, I've done all these things several times, but I have also had many, many successes, and hours of joy from cooking with TMX!
Good luck and don't give up ;)

Welcome to the Forum Madhouse. Our chooks ate very well for the first week or so, but now they don't get much at all. It is such an amazing machine, that you have to learn a new way of cooking.

Welcome madhouse. I too had some epic fails at the start of my TMX journey, especially with main meals. I eventually discovered it was due to my veg stock concentrate. I now use quirky jo's chicken stock concentrate in its place and have noticed a huge difference. This forum is a wealth of information and advice. I love it.

Welcome madhouse. 4 boys. Yikes! Good luck with pleasing them all. The Thermothingy will be a big help.

Welcome madhouse. We all human here...we even have an oops thread, so take a pic so we can have abit of a laugh. My tip is you can always stop a couple of seconds before the recipes says to check the consistency and scrape the bowl. You can always give it a second or two more but its better than a mushy mess.

hello and welcome to the forum MH

Hi MH - and a very warm welcome to the forum - I think the more you use it, the more comfortable you are with it. I'm sure that's what many of us thought in the beginning - each effort was going to be stupendously impressive - we soon learned otherwise!! ;D ;D ;D But before long, successes became more frequent - don't give up!! Looking forward to hearing more from you soon! :D

Hi Madhouse, hope we can help you, ask away... :)

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Hello and welcome MH! :D
-
Welcome to the forum, and good luck adjusting to a new way of preparing & cooking food. I've also had some "interesting" results, and found I very much needed to follow existing recipes for a while to learn how things worked with the thermomix. ;D

Thanks for the warm welcome. It was brought to my attention that this thread was locked so I've hopefully fixed it. Not sure how that happened. Sorry about that.
Well I've had a great day cooking and everything has turned out which has made me a happy camper. My vege stock turned out great after last weeks effort of using table salt instead if rock salt. Oops!! Sticky cinnamon scrolls were a hit. Ginger beer was delish and my lasagne and spag Bol were amazing.
The 2 fussy eaters ( who had spag Bol and normally turn their nose up at it) ate 3 bowls each!! I had it packed full of vege's too!!
I'm finally starting to enjoy it more. ;D
