Title: Pasta sticking
Post by: MangoJam on March 07, 2013, 10:40:32 am

Ive just cooked some dry pasta in my TMX for the first time and the strands of cooked pasta have wrapped themselves around the blade and are difficult to remove. I followed the cooking instructions to the letter in the EDC . Is this the norm or have I done something wrong ? ???

No, the pasta (especially spaghetti) does wrap around the blade. I just upend the bowl over a dish and remove the blades so that I can untangle the spaghetti.

I find my spirals untwist when cooking and wrap around the blade too. I do what Judy said to remove.

I personally prefer to do the pasta on the cooktop which the sauce  i in TMX that way pastas can be al dente and still a nice shape.

I cook most pasta in my thermoserver :)

Hally how long do you put it in the thermoserver for? I tried it once but wasn't very happy with the outcome but would really like to try again.

I use Barilla pasta. About 7 mins, if not cooked, drain & add more boiling water & then another 3. I just keep checking it. Its so easy :)

I prefer Braille pasta, it doesn't seem to overcook at all.

Yes I only buy Barilla & of course make pasta too, but not of late, too hot, too busy.

I use a tupperware microwave cooker - one of the cheapest tupperware products and it's a god send! Love it.
Love the Thermoserve idea too - I'm going to have to try that Thanks Hally.

I like my tupperware pasta cooker too. I hadn't used it for years then someone here on the forum recommended it. Sometimes the pasta can be overdone but having a two year old running around, I think it's safer having pasta cook in the microwave than on the stove where I might get distracted. I've only ever cooked spirals in the basket in the TMX. Will certainly try the thermoserver idea, thanks Hally :)

I love my Tupperware microwave pasta cooker, I don't use much tupperware but I love this one - I use it at least twice a week
