Look what I made in the thermomix last night. Made yummy mojitos, herb and garlic pull apart bread, marinated beef, scallops and leek, salad with chicken and cheese, broccoli salad (took 8 secs to make) raw beetroot salad, I love my thermie! I would never have attempted something so good as that bread. I am so proud of it!

Congratulations Cowley, magnificent spread and you have every reason to be proud of your efforts, even us TMX oldies still achieve that sense of proudness each time we make something special and every time we make bread of some description.  No stopping you now, bet your family are loving it.

Well done. You have certainly been busy cooking up a storm. At that rate TMX will pay for itself in no time at all. I still haven't attempted making bread yet and I've had my machine for over a year now so well done to you.

Gosh MEP bread is what I seem to make the most, that and sorbets. My kids text me every day from school when they are nearly home to get started on the sorbet lol We have had, lemon, apple and mint, pineapple, watermelon, strawberry, rockmelon, mango. Rockmelon is our favourite.

You have to try the bread. It is soooo easy. The dough just comes out perfect. My tip is to have the water at 37 degrees (baby bottle temp) and add the water and yeast first. I have never made pizza dough before and I have struggled a bit spreading it out. Because I have been training to be a consultant I have been making it a lot for the kids. Teenage boys and they are loving it. You can have a pizza on the bench cooked all up in about 20 mins. ones with plain garlic and oil base then a simple topping is just as popular as tomato base and piled high.

I did the spread last night cos I have a friend who is a real foodie and she is really struggling because she has a nasty arm injury and can't cook that well. She is trying to get the compensation company to pay for her thermomix. I took mine around so we could have some fun and cheer her up a bit cos she's been in terrible pain lately. We had loads of fun. The lesson is we need to follow all the steps cos our first batch of mojitos we needed a spittoon with each sip as I didn't blend the lime too well. After we strained it it was more drinkable lol.

And you know what really makes me proud? It's how my family have embraced it. The kids just love it. They come home every day and ask, what have you made today? Now considering I never bake this is great because it has changed my outlook.

My hubby makes a up and go every morning. He showed me a better way to put the bowl together cos he has a mechanical mind. And..... the other night he missed tea so he came out and actually attempted to make tomato soup. Now he never cooks and we have never made tomato soup before. I was mega impressed. But I worked it out and lay on the couch issuing him instructions about how to chop an onion and the saute it and the homegrown tomatoes. It was probably really more a tomato sauce but we added milk and it was delicious. I was really proud of him. Men seem to really love it. I think they are just impressed with the technology.

Oh your poor friend. I hope the compo is sorted sooner rather than later for her.

That's so wonderful about your family embracing  the TMX. My DH hasn't so much as touched the machine and  entire family tells me it's too noisy and to turn it off. LOL. Must admit the noise did nearly put me off purchasing TMX.

My family used to crush a lot of ice and make a lot of smoothies before I had the thermie so we are used to the noise. He did whicge the other night when I was making the chicken volaute to practice and I said he could sit in the other room and watch tv.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. It's great to be able to share my excitement. They talk about it being a journey and it is like that. I never bake and it's so great to be feeling inspired again. I am feeling really domesticated and have started cleaning bits that have needed cleaning for ages. I feel like the drudgery has been washed away. And its such a joy. I even feel more like a proper mother. I used to feel so bad when my boys were disappointed that I wasn't baking for them. Even if what I make is gone in 5 mins after they get home from school it's a such of accomplishment. Does that make sense?

I am so glad your food disappears quickly. Then you have the chance to make some more. I love baking but we have to watch that we don't consume too much or we will be bigger blimps.
What a lovely compliment your family are paying you.

Tonight I made the veloute but I adapted it to scallops. My husband has never really had scallops until last weeks cook up where I got the scallop recipe off the phone app. Being a Victorian before I moved to Canberra I love scallops and pleased that he loved them. Well let me tell you it is yummy scrummy with the mustard sauce.

Today I made a jelly slice and some biscuits. My 13yo son had never seen homemade biscuits. How embarrassing is that?
I did make stuff at one stage but they were too fussy and i'd end up giving them to the chooks.
