Technical Tip • If you need to weigh in an ingredient during cooking, pause the cooking by turning the speed dial off then press
the weighing scales button and weigh in your ingredient(s). Finally, turn the speed dial back to the desired speed and your thermomix will resume cooking, remembering both the temperature and the remaining time.
Just read this on a UK newsletter...something I didn't know and thought I would share it in case others didn't know. Very handy when you spend a lot of time in the kitchen...saves having to get the scales out when the TMX is already out ;)

brilliant, thanks kathryn!

Thanks Kathryn, as long as the time doesn't reach 00:00 then the temp setting is kept and you can add time. The problem is when you let it hit 00:00 and then think it needs more cooking and forget to reset the temp. :-[ :-[ :-[

And haven't we all done that Thermomixer >:( >:( >:( >:(

This is a great tip. I have been frustrated about this perceived inability of the TMX, and it was there all along. Silly me :)

I will have to email this thread link to my friend who wouldn't believe that I could do this. She is sure that her TMX can't do it. ;)

Oh my gosh Chelsea she is in for s surprise!! I do it ALL THE TIME I love it, especially if I am on a bender and getting other recipes ready to go ...

Yep, I do this too. I didn't realise that other people didn't or I would have posted sooner!
Also, I often want to weigh out something that isn't going in straight away. I just place a container on top of the TMX, tare it and then pour whatever it is into the container to get the weight.
