Title: Same as choc coating on magnum ice creams
Post by: Cerise on February 20, 2013, 10:07:50 pm
Hiya All,

Could someone provide a recipe for the hardened chocolate coating, similar consistency & thickness on magnum vanilla ice creams?

Thanks,
Cerise

Have you tried melting chocolate and adding just a little copha to it and then coating your icecream in that? I think it would work.

I've had this little 'recipe' in my files but haven't tried it as yet.

CHOCOLATE ICE MAGIC makes approx ¾ cup
200g bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 ½ tbsp virgin coconut oil

Melt the chocolate in a small metal bowl set over a pan of simmering water.

Stir in the coconut oil and heat until dissolved, about 1 minute.

Keep the liquid lukewarm until ready to pour over the ice cream. Chocolate will harden into a shell within a few seconds when spooned over ice cream.
