Is ratatouille what we call eggplant in Australia Thermoinoux?
-
I understood ratatouille to be a combination of stewed vegetables, mainly tomato, eggplant, zucchini and capsicum :)

So did I Amy but I just thought I'd check.

Ratatouille is usually served as a side dish, but also may be served as a meal on its own (accompanied by pasta, rice or bread). Tomatoes are a key ingredient, with garlic, onions, courgette (zucchini), aubergine, bell peppers, marjoram and basil, or bay leaf and thyme, or a mix of green herbs like herbes de Provence.

Thanks Thermominoux. Farfallina has one on our forum here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5784.0) - she is Turkish living in Italy and has posted the French recipe :D I wonder if it is the same as yours.

Yes Ratatouille has many versions. Originated from the south east of France, the main ingredient is tomato. Other vegetables are added upon taste. So there are many recipes for Ratatouille. Thanks for pointing to me Farfalinna's recipe. It should be of course a very good ratatouille.
I'm still discovering your forum. It's huge. I'll need time also to get use "posts" efficiently.
Cheers
