Hi everyone.... I purchased the lovely sky blue travel bag from TIA and it arrived Friday just in time for us to take Thermalot away with us for the long weekend.
Only problem is the base doesn't fit in the bottom properly >:(
I've got the curved bit at the front, thanks to this forum (can't find the post now regarding how this went from another forum member) but the back part them sits up the back of the bag, like its just too big for it....end result in trying to fit it was the padding separated from the back plastic part....phoned HO about this and they are sending out another one, but I asked them to check it in a blue bag first as I have a feeling it will be the same problem due to HO saying they are a standard size...maybe my bag has been made a tad too small???
Phoned my consultant to see if she had heard of this....she hasn't but said the blue bags are relatively new and would check one that she has out on loan (its not blue though)
Has anyone else had this issue, surely the base supposed to sit completely flat but nice and snug without buckling up?
Was even worse once the Velcro strip was fitted in the Varoma part
Thanks in advance and Happy belated Australia Day to all in Oz ;D

Sorry GP can't help with this one, I've travelled with mine in the caravan over half of Aus, I just have it in my over locker sewing machine case , it has travelled fine.
-
GP are you able to post some photo's so we can see what is actually happening, might be able to help you out a little more. I think I know where the other photo is so will try and link it up for you ;)

Here is Rainbow's query about the blue bag.

The machine should sit down with the legs in the holes. Single hole at the back, double at the front. Hope this helps.

thanks Cookie ... I got a little sside-tracked looking at Robyn's video links of the flooding :o :o
-
Frightening aren't they?
-
Thanks for the replies everyone and the link....you know I have my L plates on still (hehe)
If I hadn't already cut the padding to fit, I would take a photo to show you....LOL, that's if I can post it on here okay from my arm extension, more commonly referred to as an iPad :P
I LOVE gadgets too! ;)
Can those of you who have the travel bag let me know if your padded base sits completely flat in the bottom of your bag please.
-
Mine does. I have a black bag. It certainly looks as though Rainbow's does too. Your bag sounds a bit wonky to me.

Thanks cookie....guess I will wait and see what the next base HO sends me is like,...I see TIA have now removed the blue travel bag from their website, so none are now showing as available?
Will post the outcome, thanks for your help everyone

was wondering what TIA meant and presuming Thermomix in Australia ???
-
@CP.....yes you're correct, I was being lazy ;D

My second travel bag base arrived today, exactly the same size as the first one :(
I took photos, did some measuring and sent all to Head Office. It appears the issue is with the bag
Unfortunately there's no replacement blue bags at HO, so after some discussion Ive gone with a black one which
will hopefully be here by next Thurs-Frid.
Gonna really miss that pretty blue one, loved that colour but the main thing is to get this resolved
-
wonder if it was a bad batch, wrong sizes.. :)
-
they would have to buy heaps of each color at a time.
Did you get it sorted out GP.
-
It's not used is it GP?
-
No JD :)
I will give credit where it's due and the lady from TIA head office that Im dealing with via email has been so apologetic and very prompt to try and get this rectified ASAP, it's just time consuming due to deliveries from WA to Melb.
Wouldn't it be great if they kept stock at another location as well, say Sydney or Melbourne main office?
-
well for the price they pay for the bags , as to how much they sell the bags for $80, you should get this resolved, and a NEW bag.
I would be most upset, if it was me. :-[
=Why don't they get bags in a variety of colors for us to buy, we already have spent $2000 on a machine HO..
They have a full bad batch of wrong sizes.
Not good enough.

Big fright...went to open the Varoma zips, but noticed a crease in the canvas and as I went to smooth that out, this very much alive
freeloader jumped out of the crease
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/02/08/9ure5ehy.jpg)
EEK! Not a fan of insects and of course it went under the lounge suite...armed myself with fly spray to get it to move...finally cornered the little bug(ger) and this pic is when it was almost in bug
So, was the bag shipped from WA? And, where was it manufactured? If it was manufactured outside Aus and that little critter has been with the bag from the time it was made that would be a pretty serious quarantine breach I would think.
-
Gosh if it had come into WA they would be Jumping up and down as they are so strict on quarantine. It looks like a cricket.
-
You are right GP - it's best to just move on. All you want to do is enjoy your Thermomix experience. No point dwelling on these problems and the main thing is that you get what you want in the end even if you have to compromise a little.
-
GP, I would not put up with it. :-*
I checked last weekend about these travel bags. :o they are all made in China...
You have been sold something that is faulty, you have the right to a refund, or replacement there of, at no more expense to yourself.
What about the manufacturers warranty on that item.
They will get a full refund on that bag from the manufacturer.
if they can not supply the same bag, which is perfect, they have to upgrade you or refund. that is law..
where is your consultant in this...MIA...
-
Im satisfied with the black bag as a replacement obbie, I do feel that they have done the right thing in trying to resolve this :)
My consultant has been kept in the loop and is very supportive, but this order was done with HO, not her, so I have been dealing with
them directly, rather than involve her, she is a gem though and we have a great rapore.
Yes, JD, moving forward is good for ones well being :)
Thanks to all you lovely ladies for your great input and support, I do appreciate it :)
-
That's great news then GP.
Hope they send it soon.
