Title: Newbie with a fussy family!
Post by: Jaimi_Rabbit on January 22, 2013, 05:00:32 am
Hey Everyone,

My name is Jaimi and I currently live in Tom Price, WA - I  have had my thermomix for about 5 months now and I love it. I am a vegetarian and I have a 19 month old who looks like he might be following in my foot steps. He is so fussy when it comes to meal times but is happy to graze on food all day - I am yet to find a piece of fruit he will not eat but getting veggies into him is a nightmare so if anyone has some finger food recipes with hidden veggies I would love to hear some suggestions!

My partner is not a vegetarian but has very limited taste buds so its all trial and error in this house but since having my thermomix I am no longer cooking 3 dinners every night, thank god...  ;D

I am so glad to be hear and try all your yummy recipes :)

Hi Jaimi, welcome to the forum, I'm glad you are enjoying you Thermomix, it is a great machine, have you tried the vegetarian sausage rolls by Cyndi O'Meara , they are really delicious I added in a carrot you could smuggle lots of veggies in your DH will like them too, everyone I have given them too thinks they are great, the good thing with the TMX is you can mince the veggies really small and sneak them in.

Hi and welcome Jaimi. It must be rather warm up there at the moment.
You will find lots and lots of hints on here for smuggling veggies into meals.

Hi and welcome Jaimi :D
Certainly sounds like a fussy family!

Here is my recipe for Zucchini, Cheese and Bacon Mini Quiches:

http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=10413.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=10413.0)

You can omit the bacon to make it vegetarian, and just peel the zucchini so there will be no green to give it away ;)

Hi Jaimi and welcome. The Thermomix is great for hiding vegies. Try chopping up vegies, sauté and cooking in a tomato type sauce then blitz till smooth. The EDC meatloaf recipe has a great sauce with sweet potato you could use.  Make the sauce and use it to dip risotto balls, chips, etc.  if you think done meat might work, try hiding veg in meatballs and serve with the veg sauce.

Welcome, Jaimi. The TM is great for vego's, makes everything much faster. Have a look in the raw section too as some of those recipes are fantastic. :D

Those Cyndi O'meara vegetarian sausage rolls sound good. I have a fussy child & partner too!
