I am a happily married 60 yr old (just) grandmother, am I the oldest person on this forum?
Anyway, I have just had my thermomix for 2 weeks and have had some successes and some disastrous results, mainly over chopping! Practise makes perfect so they say. I have made great stock, wonderful rice and delicious ice cream so not bad really as a beginner.
Back to me, I am a retired midwife, child health nurse that went to into training, now I am retired and enjoying travelling, which brings me to France, we live for 6 months in SW France and 6 months in Perth. I wonder if anyone can advise on how to buy a machine in France as I know by the time April arrives and I have to leave mine at home we will be inseparable!
I look forward to be being part this support community.

A very warm welcome to the forum Capet . . the oldest?? Not by a very long shot!! ;D so glad you found us and decided to join in the fun. You're doing very well for two weeks! It does take some getting used to, but once that penny drops you'll be off and running. I can assure you we've all been through it!!
A member, CreamPuff has put up a list of her favourites - just try some of these.

I'm sure there is a forum member who could advise you about purchasing the TMX in France . . . what a wonderful lifestyle!!
Just remember, any question - very simple or very complex, just put it on here and someone is bound to be able to help you! :D

Hello and welcome to the forum capet. How lucky you are to be able to travel.
-
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum Capet, love your lifestyle of spending time here and in France. Frozzie has not long come home to Australia from France so perhaps she will be able to give you some advice.
-
Welcome capet and welcome to sunny/hot Perth. You are definitely not the oldest on the forum as goldfish said. We all just act young. You are very fortunate to be able to stay with the warm weather.
I am sure Frozzie will be able to help with the TMX and France.
How are you coping with the heat here in Perth?

Welcome Capet. I am 69 and there are others older than me here. Never too young or old to love your Thermothingy.

Hello and welcome Capet! :D

Hello Capet, and a warm welcome to the forum from the youngest member ;)

Hello Capet and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are doing great with your thermie. Chopping is a little hard to get right at first. I like speed 5 for 3-5 seconds. You can always stop at 3 seconds, have a look, scrape down and do for a second more :)

Hi Capet, welcome to the forum :)

Welcome Capet. So far our oldest member (Andie) has said she is 74 and Amy is our youngest at 17 (or 18?) and then everyone else is in between. Maybe there is someone even older/younger? What a wonderful life you have flitting between two fantastic places
