Hi there everybody.
I am looking at replacing my crepe pan which is just a cheap one.
Does anyone have the chasseur cast iron crepe pan or the green pan crepe pan? Can you give me your feedback?
I am looking for a good quality one and want the option of it working on induction in the future as well.

Sorry, wish I did.

Thanks anyway Cookie.

Meagan, I don't have the ones you listed, but i do have the Swiss Diamond crepe pan. Love it. It's sloped on one side, so they just glide off the pan onto plate. I did wait until they were on special though.

i have a cheap one so i cannot really say but i wouldn't buy a cast iron one because it is quite heavy and would make it difficult to flip the crepes.
but i dont have very strong wrists ;D ;D

I want to avoid the non stick surfaces due to the chemicals I have been reading about that are involved in the coating process of these pans. The green pan (ceramic coated) is not getting fantastic reviews after 6-12 months of age. I agree the cast iron is heavy but when I am making crepes I spread the mixture with a wooden crepe spreader so don't lift it up at all and with pancakes and pikelets I just pour the mixture on without lifting the pan. The reviews for the cast iron are all positive except for the handle getting very hot but I have some handle covers from old scan pans I have bought in the past that would more than likely fit on there.
Leaning towards the chasseur at the moment ;)

I have a crepe pan, but never use it.

Really? I used to use mine every sunday but we are out of the habit with that. I use it for pancakes pikelets and crepes.

I have had one for years, and a glass plate, with it for the batter.
Must try it on the weekend then.

What is the glass plate for ????

It sounds like Obbie has an electric crepe maker that you turn upside down into the plate of batter. I have a sunbeam one but mine has a metal dish for the batter. Right Robyn?
-
Ok that makes sense. I remember my friends parents having one of those when I was a teenager 8) :o

mine is one for gas stove.
It came with a glass plate, to put the batter in, then straight onto the gas stove.
:)
i'll take a photo and post it 2morow.
