So who do you think are going to be the champions Robyn? I love Novak Djokovic, but I wouldn't mind if Roger Federer won either ;D

Serena Williams will probably win the women's :P

Any favourites for you Mich? :)

Not a great tennis fan, I prefer cricket and AFL.  I hope Federer wins though.

I have trouble following the team sports because there are so many more players on the court/field at once :-))
Much prefer tennis :)

I watched the match this afternoon between the two young Aussie blokes. It was nail-biting! 4.5 hours, they must have been knackered :o And such a close game, it was a shame someone had to lose :(

Yes Amy. Love it.  Was hoping the underdog would win this afternoon because he had come from 2 sets down and well down in the 3rd.  He showed great tenacity.  Used to play for our local tennis club mid week ladies a couple of days a week .... Love tennis.

So was I Jude, I was on the edge of my seat hoping the other guy would make a few double faults :-)) ;D Mean I know, but I wanted Ben to win since he worked so hard to get back into the game :)
I used to love playing tennis too, but I always got a racket with a hole in it ??? ;D

Bernard Tomic is through. He's only the third Aussie through the first round so far :(

Is Andy Murray cp's favourite, Hally? :) Or is he yours?

Amy, when I played my racket always had a hole in it too ;)

Both,    cps coach told him , Andy Murray was playing the same level  tennis cp is now. He has potential if he wishes.

But his real fav is Nadal as he has a Nadal racket

He wants to play in the Hopman Cup & has told if he works hard he could , but we will see.......... His coach pus him with teenages & he beats some 15 year olds & looses to some. We are now concentrating on placing the ball on the court :)

I'm watching when I can.  I was so disappointed Hewitt lost.  I am not a Tomic fan.  Really like Federer and wish Nadal was playing, even though I can't stand watching him pulling his pants out of his bum!  He shouldn't wear his shorts so tight :-))

I'm not a huge Tomic fan either Kezza. I wasn't sad to see Hewitt lose though :-\ He's been playing for 16 years, I think he should quit while he's ahead.
LOL about Nadal, I totally agree ;D

Wow, cp must be a little tennis star then :) Maybe he could participate in the Austrlian Open Juniors when he is a bit older?
I don't like Nadal at all. He's probably my least favourite player :-)) I get mad whenever he beats Federer or Djokovic >:(
How is cp's serve? He must still be a bit on the short side ;D

Amy, when I played my racket always had a hole in it too ;)

Glad I wasn't the only one cookie!! :D

He is about the height of a 12 year old, size 6 1/2 feet.

His serves are ok :)
He will have you running all over the court, but not good at coming to the net as yet :)

As long as he can get it over the net consistently ;) ;)
Still needs to build that confidence to come to the net I guess :) I never liked playing at the net, even in doubles I didn't like being the one at the net :-))

Yes his serves are good, rare a double fault.

Hes only just turned 9, bless :)

Yes thanks. Last week in the heat he was still keen to do 5 hours per day.

He will probably loose interest. & wont want to put the effort in >:(

Sam Stosur is out!!!!!!!! :o :'(
I can't believe it, she was up 5-2 in the third set, I thought she could do it :(

I was very disappointed with Sam.  Came back well to win in the second and looked like she was going to do well in the third.   Grrrrr ....

Ditto that Jude. She made a lot of double faults and her aim on some points was way off :(

Wow Hally. My DS is 8 hasn't started matches yet, will wait til next summer. Loves coaching and going to tennis camp next week.
I'd love to take him to the Open next year. I'm on watching slip'n'slide duty now, then water the garden, bath kids and then watch Novak.
I love Federer and Nadal too. Very sad to see Stouser out today.
One perk of being a stay at home Mum and school holidays - lot's of tennis watching opportunities - and a direct link to less cooking!!! Too hot anyway!

Tennis is the only sport that really interests me.  Can't stand football and cricket bores me to tears.  I don't watch every minute of the tennis but like to keep an eye on what is happening.  It was a shame to see Sam Stouser go out.  I hope Roger Federer wins.

I'm like you with cricket and football Margaret :-))

I'm watching Bernard Tomic play right now. He's two points away from a win :)
I'm not a huge fan but I'd like to see him win because he's Aussie!!! :D

I agree Yvette, a spoiled brat :P

They're in a tie break now, Tomic didn't get any of his match points.

I hope Ducky is winning his match!! :D

FINALS TONIGHT!!!

I want Li Na to win the women's and Novak Djokovic to win the men's.

I can't believe Federer was knocked out last night! :(

And a shame the aussie girls couldn't win the doubles, but it was a great match :)

Will anyone else be watching the finals?
