I love hearing what people are having for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but what about dessert or sweets? I'm always up for a late night nibble of something sweet & would love to have inspiration!
Tonight we had coffee and doughnuts :)
-
Lucky you. We don't have dessert unless we have visitors. Occasionally DH will have icecream, DD often has icecream and I will have a bit of yoghurt.
-
SD always has fruit and a drizzle of cream for his pudding. At the moment we also have some rhubarb ice cream that I made ;D
Sometimes I make something more substantial from here. Or if we are given some fruit or something that needs to be used up I look for a recipe :)
-
We usually just have fruit and yoghurt too...but I'm often on the lookout for naughty treats :D
-
We only have dessert when we have people over for dinner or family gatherings.
I always have ice-cream in the freezer for the kids as well as yogurt and fresh fruit.
Occasionally I have a chocolate craving and then I give into temptation and eat some Lindt soft centered chocolate balls ;)
-
As much as I love desserts, I rarely make them just for us - I'd have to end up eating the lot myself and I don't need it. Mind you I do a pretty good job on the tubs of ice-cream but I like pieces of fruit or freshly made bread with home-made jam and cream as well. If I was eating at someone else's house though, I would never say no to a dessert - I rarely have them in restaurants unless everyone else does. When I do make dessert, as we usually have our main meal of the day for lunch, I will then have the dessert in place of anything else for tea.
-
Homemade yoghurt and maple syrup poured...I mean drizzled ;) over the top. Half nice half naughty but really soft for my sore teeth ;)
-
I make desserts for when we have guests, but rarely eat any.
I make cakes, slices, biscuits more :)
I make sorbets for kids alot.
-
Oh great thread. I have been addicted to raspberry coconut icecream lately. Freeze coconut cream till nearly frozen but still able to chop into chunks and whizz up in TMX with frozen raspberries, a bit of icing sugar and a little more unfrozen coconut cream. It's sublime!

oooh yum Jude & easy too!

Don't usually cook desserts unless someone is coming over. Try not to eat them often ;D
-
Amy! Brilliant idea for the rhubarb. I have tons of it.

Thanks Jude ;D Its very nice ;)
-
Jude that sounds divine. Must make it soon.
Have passionfruit flummery in fridge for tonight's dessert. Boys eat dessert almost every night. I sometimes join in ;)
-
We don't do dessert just for us, but always have fruit on offer after a meal if it is wanted.
I do have sticky date muffins for tonight tho, as they are leftover from Sunday.
Sometimes have cheesecakes too, but only if I have made them for guests and have them in the freezer or whatever.
-
We had a spin on Kimmy's Jelly Whip, with crushed pineapple and low kilojoule mango & passionfruit jelly.(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/15/5ademe5u.jpg)
-
Looks great ;D
-
Lovely jamberie.
We had chookies passionfruit flummery. Lovely and just like when I was a little girl :)
-
The kids had greek yogurt with sliced banana and a little maple syrup. DD 6 begged me for some chia seeds on top, lol.
-
Not often that you hear kids begging for a superfood PT!! ;D
YUM Jamberie :D
SD had rhubarb icecream with peaches :)
-
DD 6 begged me for some chia seeds on top, lol.
Cute!
-
Ooh, rhubarb icecream sounds yummy. I love rhubarb.
DD is weird like that - she steals lettuce from the fridge, asks for green smoothies etc. Her younger sister, on the other hand, is a junk food addict (not that we have much of that around!).
-
Leftover chocolate plum pudding (recipe on my blog) and mango coconut cream :). 'twas dh's idea he searched freezer and enticed me :)
-
We all had a lovely chilled mango. I managed to get a tray of mangoes for $20 today. It worked out at $1 per mango.

Wow! What a bargain. I'm still waiting for them to come down in price to buy a tray. Aldi had a container of 6 yesterday for about $6 but they are quite small.
-
Oh YUM cookie!!! :D :D :D I love mango ;D
-
Two squares of chocolate from the cupboard.
Does that count as dessert?
-
yes Jess
-
I think that would be a dessert entree DJ ;D

She sounds just like my miss6! :D
-
I don't tend to make desserts for myself, but I like to try out recipes from here occasionally and the kids don't complain!
Yesterday I took a chocolate cake out of the freezer, iced it and we had some for dessert last night & the rest got eaten up at the park today by a pack of kids!
Tonight will be icecream for the kids (if they're good).
-
I have two granddaughters staying with me so desert is definitely on! One doesn't like icecream.... Weird I know! So as I have a lot of cherries it's choc cherry cake :)

Creme brûlée - first attempt. Recipe here... http://dazinthekitchen.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/creme-brulee-in-thermomix.html.
I did have to add 30g milk at end and remix as it had curdled.
Used 6 eggs, they weighed 300g.
Used raw sugar in recipe and again on top to grill.
Brûlée chilled in fridge for about 3 hrs.
Had never grilled sugar before, was too scared to leave them any longer.
Custard a little runny underneath but yummy!!

-
Oh johnro that looks amazing! :o
Well done! :D :D
-
Mmmmmmmm Johnro!! Decadent!
-
WOW!!! Yummo Robyn! :D :D
-
....thank you - the pic shows the density of the almost mud cake texture but it did not have the richness of a traditional mudcake. It was a cream cheese icing so that help cut done the sweetness and the berry coulis worked well - yea I know I should have strained the coulis to remove seeds but it was served to very good friends over for dinner last night!! (http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww173/prestonjjrtr/Smileys/1sm201cake2.gif)
-
Yummy Robyn. You can make that for me any day. Think I am drooling ;D
-
Oh yum! What lucky friends :)
-

Love it!!

5 minute dessert... Caramelised Figs with Cinnamon & Cardamon Yoghurt w Granola :)
So yummy I might have it for breakfast tomorrow too!
-
That looks pretty yummy Jam ;D ;D
-
Great photo jam. So yummy looking.
-
Thanks Kimmy & Amy. It was really yummy. We didn't have it again tonight..
DD (age 2) and I made Chocolate Custard from the EDC. DD decided that eggs were fun to crack so when my back was turned, she cracked a extra :D so we ended up having three eggs in the custard! I was worried that it might taste like scrambled eggs so I added cocoa (as per EDC variation) and it was yummy. We have left overs for tomorrow too :)
-
Your DD sounds very enthusiastic Jam ;D What a cutie!
I would have just doubled the recipe :-)) :D
-
Haha! Well that would've been the sensible option... at the time my brain thought more eggs might counter balance the sugar and make the custard "healthier" :D:D:D
-
I'm not usually known for sensibility ;D I like you theory though, lets stick with that! :D :D
-
Frozen mango bars made in Popsicle moulds. Boys loved them. Hardest part was getting them to sit still for a photo!
-
Those look really great, Kimmyh . . no wonder the boys couldn't keep still for long . . . ;D ;D ;D
-
Good job Kimmy, that looks really yum!! :D
-
I could go one of those now Kim. The sun is shinning after last nights storms and it is very steamy.
-
yummy Kimmy
-
Oops, nearly forgot about this thread :)
I made an apple pie this evening. Pastry made in TMX, then while it was chilling I stewed some apples (that were picked this morning in Hay, NSW) in the TMX, put it altogether with some sugar and cinnamon... (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/19/3e9uzary.jpg)
We have plenty more apples so I might have another go and post a tweaked recipe... Great weather for apple pie.
-
yum jamberie looks delicious ;D;D
-
Delicious jam.
-
Oh yummo Jam :D
Looks just like the one mum used to make ;D
-
Apple pie is everyone's favourite.
-
Apple pie is everyone's favourite.

-
I haven't made one for years. Looks great Jamberie and we all want a piece :D
-
Yummy pie
-
Fabulous pie Jamberie,I would need Clotted Cream on mine :D :D
-
Thanks everyone! I kicked myself when I read your post Amy, I can't believe I went up to the shop to buy ice-cream instead of whipping up some custard! Silly me!
CC, clotted cream would be delish!
I have another one in the oven now using the recipe from the new EDC... I'll compare it and report back :)
-
Tonight's new EDC Apple Pie recipe (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/20/juzybuzu.jpg)
-
How did it compare with the other one Jamberie?
-
CC what is clotted cream? I have heard the name but don't actually know what it is.
-

It was good Judy. Cooking the apples in the varoma was excellent. I'll write a review soon. Do I just start a new thread? How would I link it to the EDC reviews?
-
CC what is clotted cream? I have heard the name but don't actually know what it is.
It's a very rich cream with a buttery taste and very high in calories :D :D Billiant on scones :D :D A dieters nightmare food :D :D
Clotted Cream (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clotted_cream)

-
Thanks CC. Sounds like my sort of cream, just with a yucky sounding name. We have double cream here that is quiet thick, but never seen clotted cream.
-
This is what happens when you ask SD what he wants for dessert....
Peaches in mango puree
Chocolate custard
Greek yoghurt
Choc chip cookie
:-)) ;D
-
I'm guessing you gave him 4 options and he just said yes please;D;D
-
How did you know Suzanne? :o :D
-
OMG Amy. It sounds disgusting, but looks sooo good ;D
-
That's my presentation skills Kimmy ;) ;) ;)
-
because my dad answers the same way ::)::)
-
OMG Amy. It sounds disgusting, but looks sooo good ;D
I agree Kimmy... I think I could give it a go... It's the yoghurt I think I'd struggle with!
-
We have some Mundella vanilla yoghurt if you'd prefer that Jam ;D
Suzanne, LOL, it must be a bloke thing :-))
-
yep they only hear the last thing you say ;D
-
yummy Amy
-
I made Plum Crumble tonight for dessert.I used the plums leftover from making Plum Liqurer. For the crumble topping I based it on Bron's Yummy Apple Crumble (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1023.0) recipe.Didn't use the citrus peels but added 1 tsp of cinnamon instead.Really delicious.

Looks good CC, we had sticky toffee yesterday from the farm shop. No pudding tonight.
-
Thanks DJ.Sticky Toffee Pudding is DH favourite dessert. ;D
-
That looks yum CC. Just love plums.
-
Isn't it nice when you can get more than one dish from an ingredient CC, love these liqueur recipes that leave you with leftover fruit for something else.
-
Yummy
-
Looks fantastic CC. I love plums

Looks good CC :)
-
