Hi Mumiiii, welcome to the forum.  Did you have a delivery demo with your machine, it doesn't sound like it.  You sound a bit like me, I just looked at it for a while not knowing where to start and being terrified of it :-))  Then I found this forum and I was away  ;D

Here's (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=859.0) a thread that was started back in 2009 where members tell us exactly what they cooked when they first received their machine.

This (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0) list from CP has a wonderful selection of things to try - many are favourites of everyone on here so have a browse of that and you are bound to come up with some ideas to start you off on your voyage of discovery.

A warm welcome to the forum Mumiiii - The rule that was drummed into me was to set  TIME TEMPERATURE SPEED in that order . . .
NO metal spoons, etc, anywhere near your TMX bowl, and not to use any harsh abrasives when cleaning ( I just use a wet paper towel and bicarb - works a treat!)

the links Judy gave you will be invaluable.  Why don't you try making the vegetable stock first as this is what you'll be using in a lot of the recipes.  Do you have the EDC book that came with the TMX?

Any questions at all, just pop them on here and you'll have all the help you need . .  Good luck! :D

Hi Mumiiii,
Welcome to the forum :) The first thing I made (like Goldfish suggested) was the vegetable stock paste...I was a but underwhelmed at first but so so pleased I made it first up as I could then make more interesting things.
Custard is also a good one because you get the immediate reward :)
Happy cooking :)

Welcome to the forum Mumiiii. I hope I got the number of i's correct.
I think you have been given all the advice in the above posts. Where abouts in Australia are you?  There will be Back to Basics courses run by Thermomix Head Office that you will be ablew to attend. They run through quite a lot and I think the usual price is about $15.
Good luck with your machine, you have made a fabulous purchase. Asa others have said please ask if you have any questions at all. With our overseas members  we can answer questions 24 hours a day.

It really is a great forum. Sometimes I will be cooking and suddenly have a question. Believe it or not someone has always managed to rescue the situation!

Hi Mumiiii and welcome to the forum. Custard is a great one to start off with and so too is sorbet or fruity dream. Take your time, follow the recipe steps slowly and before you know it you will be cooking up a storm :)
