Has anyone thought about theirs?
I only have four so far...
1. Get a job that I enjoy and save up some money.
2. Get my P-plates.
3. Get a passport.
4. Go to the Forum Fest in Adelaide ;D
Anyone else want to share if they have some? :)
-
I don't generally make them but this year I did say I would cut back on how much I do for my Christmas hampers - I told Katie to remind me of this when the time comes but she said I wouldn't take any notice if she did ;D She is probably right.
-
No new years resolutions here, either.
They rarely stick, so I gave up on them many years ago.
I just want to keep learning - about anything and everything!
-
No specific resolutions, but enjoy this year, time passes to quick, try more natural foods, keep away from processed food, exercise more, these are things I say quite often and I have failed a few times so maybe this year !!!
-
Lose weight and entertain more. The two possibly don't go hand in hand tho.
-
I knew someone would just have to start this thread ;D
Gert
-
None here either.

There is a thread from last year. Uni started it I think. I bumped it half way through the year to see how we were all going.
My NYR is not to buy one get one free at the super market.
-
No resolutions, enjoy life, try and have a laugh or at least a smile everyday.
-
Excellent Brenda ;D
-
I always make new year's resolution... And would only keep half of em! I am getting better at it, though. I just want to focus on three things this year:
1. Apply for a Phd;
2. Run a full marathon;
3. Read 100 books.
To a fantastic 2013!
-
to loose 13 kilos by October 2013. ;D ;D ;D ;D
simple really, Just 1.3 kilos a month, easily doable... :)
-
No resolutions here either... Too many unknowns in life for them to be realistic :)
-
I've never made resolutions but I do want to keep up with my exercise and enjoy the year ahead and the family. We had such a horrible year this year and will no doubt have ups and downs next as well but have to keep looking at all the positives.
-
Maybe just change the word, "resolutions" to "goals" . . . . .?? :D

Anyone guess my New Years resolution is? ;D
-
Hum Dede would it be you ARE giving up the fags........???? ;D
-
No Mandi, I'm not quite sure what your resolution is... can you clarify for me? ;D
Maybe just change the word, "resolutions" to "goals" . . . . .?? :D
I was thinking they were quite similar GF... the definition I found of "resolution" was "a firm decision to do or not to do something." It sounds a lot the same as a goal to me, but in different words ;D
-
Dede I know exactly what your resolution is.
It is to stop buying signs. ;) ;) ;)
-
looks like you are quitting smoking then...
-
I agree Goldfish, I always set myself goals for the year ahead.
My goal this year is to be healthier by relaxing more and taking more time out for meditation :)
-

You win Cookie ;D

I like that goal Chickie :D

None here either. Will try to stop, slow down and smell the roses a little more this year.
-
Keep on the move, and we have a goal to be sorted in a settled place by Christmas next year, if that is possible.
It's not so much in our control but what we are hoping for.
-
No resolutions here either :)
Just to be happy and make others happy ;D
-
I make the same one every year... to not make a NY Resolution!
And you know what? I do it, I keep it and I'm happy within myself all year that I didn't break it! ;D
-
No resolutions here. I did mine mid-year. Was sick of being overweight and not doing anything for me - so I decided to hire a personal trainer. I go twice a week, have lost 9kgs but more importantly went from a size 18 down to (I think) a 12. I refuse to buy any new clothes as we are going to Hawaii for NYE so will shop up big over there.

Here is a fantastic blog post about NY resolutions vs intentions http://amandarosewellness.com/blog/2012/intentions/

I plan to start cutting back on sugar, it was scary to realise how much of what I eat contains a good amount of sugar without me even giving it a second thought, like low fat yoghurt, tomato sauce and even flavoured rice crackers..... lucky I have TM to make all these things myself so I can control the ingredients ;D
-
Well done Kyton

What an inspiration Kyton :)

It is scary the amount of sugar in much of our food. I have recently started sweetening things with date puree or honey.
-
Excellent idea, Mcmich . . .also apple sauce, etc. . . . :)
-
Very interesting read on intentions. :)

I love sweetening with honey too, and you don't need very much because it is so sweet! I also use agave nectar sometimes, but that is very expensive.
Another new year goal for me is to find three new ways of making healthy food more interesing and yummy for mum and SD :)
-
I cut back sugar in cakes and slices all the time.
:)
-
.......the app food switch (scan the barcodes of packaged foods to get nutritional information, with traffic light-style colour-coded ratings for 4 key food components - total fat, saturated fat, sugar and salt) may help greatly with your NY resolution to cut back sugar. I will get back to you all with my pipeline NY intentions!!!!! :D :D

Love it astarra ;D ;D ;D
-
Astarra, I must admit to being a bit worried when I read about you helping out BIL with his move into the new house. I hope you are letting the others do all the heavy work and you are only doing light jobs and making cuppas etc. Do take care of yourself :-* :-*

I love inspirational quotes. Here's another one
(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/02/u4e9umyj.jpg)
I have so many printed out and scattered around home and the office.
-
There's a couple of things in that I disagree with, such as being yourself and never apologising - some people genuinely need to apologise because they are rude, selfish, and arrogant. Also questioning everything that people tell you - nice sometimes to just give people the benefit of the doubt because you believe they are tellling the truth.
-
I agree Creamouff, but my interpretation is not to apologize for things just to make peace and to question what people tell you (gossip- don't believe it)
-
I know...all the inspirational stuff :D
-
I love inspirational quote too DG :D I should really print some out and stick them around my bedroom to cheer me up sometimes ;)
-
Great dg, I love positive thoughts, they make sense and they do work, I'm a great fan of Louise Hay 😍
-
I like my Friendship Prayer
I have it in both of my offices..
May the fleas of 1000 camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day, and may their arms be too short to sctratch.
Amen..
-
Love it Obbie.
We should all share our favourite quotes and we could all make a little book full of them, or save them on iPad/computer for those hard times.

This is my favourite inspirational poem - sorry it's a bit long. I have it printed off and stuck around the place :)
Desiderata
Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

I love that poem too Chickie :D I have it in a little book called "Desiderata for Dog Lovers," it has heaps of gorgeous photos ;D
