Title: Hi Everyone
Post by: *^Karen^* on December 23, 2012, 09:57:07 am
Hi all,

I've had my thermie for about 2 weeks and already I've used this forum a few times to search for recipes. I am from WA and a mum of 2 boys aged 4 and 6 (1 carnivore and 1 herbivore who is autistic).  Until now I've been almost running an in house restaurant cooking 3 different meals most nights  :(  I am hoping that Thermie will help alleviate these meal time issues as well as help me get back my love of cooking.  BC (before children  ;D) I loved whipping up all sorts of things.  I have the EDC, Asian and Indian cook books.  Just wondering what is everyone's favourite recipe that is not from a Thermomix recipe book? Look forward to learning more and expanding my horizons  :)

Karen

Hi Karen, welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find the Thermomix a great help, I love the fact that it cooks and stirs by itself that alone is wonderful.

Hi Karen and welcome to the forum.  This  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0) is the most comprehensive list of favourite recipes - so many of us have done these recipes so we can vouch for a lot of them.

Hi Karen and welcome to the forum. My favourite dish atm is Chelsea's cream garlic prawn risotto. It's really yummy and turns out perfectly every time. Quirky Jo's chicken and cashews is another favourite too. :D

That is one of my favourites too Kimmy - I've done that recipe 5 times at least and that for me would be a record.  I often do things once and even if I liked them, never seem to return to them because of all the lovely recipes I still want to try.  This doesn't include bread, I have my favourites there that I do over and over again.  I must revisit some of those that I liked though.

Welcome Karen. Hopefully having the thermomix will prevent you having to cook several meals each night.
My favourites seem to change regularly. I love the Chicken Cordon Bleu as a main

That sounds delicious - I tried a search but couldn't find the recipe. Where do we find that one?

Hi Karen, I'm new as well and loving this forum. I hope your Thermomix helps ease the meal time woes in your household.

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. Soooooo many yummy sounding recipes, so little time  ;D I love the fact that CP63 has kept a list - what a great idea.  Have already done garlic prawn risotto (before thread) and it was awesome.  Have my mum coming from SA (not far from you Judy) and I know I'll have to do this at least a couple of times for her ...  Can't wait to get into things like bacon & cheese rolls for the kids. Thanks for the added inspiration everyone xx

You will have to impress Mum Karen so that she buys one when she gets back home.
