This morning we were doing out usual morning check of the garden and we found this hole in our tiny herb/Vegie patch. This little patch is nearly a metre up off the ground. At the back of it is a fence about 7 foot tall. We have a similar fence all round our yard. Near this hole we have 2 gates that something could squash under.
It looks like a rabbit digging to us, but we live in the middle of suburbia. Could a cat do it? I thought cats were neater and smaller and always covered up after them selves. We do have 3 or 4 feral cats round.
We are curious as have never seen this in suburbia before. Could it be a rat.
All suggestions gratefully received.

a rabbit or a bandicoot
we have lots of both around here

Boy you were both quick. I haven't even done the breakfast dishes yet.
I agree Robyn. I am happy to have a rabbit or bandicoot. We thought it looked just like a rabbit.
Possibly someone's pet who has escaped.

Maybe its the Were-Rabbit from Wallace and Gromit :o

The rabbits around my place and the neighbors don't seem to dig burrows they are always just darting under the thick bushes. Sneak out tonight when it is dark say about 10 with a torch and see if you can get a glimps of it, oh course we want Photo's.

I have had a lovely laugh. Yes it m ay be an emu, as long as I don't meet it during the dark times. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Now I have to wonder where the little wabbit rabbit is in the day time. DH reckons the Easter Bunny got lost. :P :P
I wil be out there tonight, not with the rabbit trap, but the torch. Bunny bashing, no oops, bunny watching. Thanks everyone. Having a possible rabbit in the garden has made my day.

He didn't visit last night. There was a piece in our local paper about some squirrels found in our area from the Perth zoo. I don't think it was small enough for a squirrel
Will look again tonight.

Squirrels are tiny and climb trees. This looks like a wabbit hole - and I should know as we have scores of the little buggers. Walking around our place is getting dangerous!
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Know the feeling, Amanda - but our little demolition demons were bandicoots . . . .
-
I agree. I just hope he isn't lost from someone's house. Poor little wabbit.
