I made this recipe today, omitting the chilli pepper and using only half a tspn of chilli flakes. It was delicious with no spice, but will try upping to the full tspn of chilli flakes next time as I think it will be fine for the kids.

I also didn't add any salt or tamari, and for me that was fine. I liked the coriander garnish, the bits of that darker colour as they were mixed into the bowl looked pretty.

Am very grateful for the person who put this recipe up over there - very simple, very tasty.

(Hope it's ok to link to recipecommmunity from here? If not, my most abject apologies and just delete and let me know so I don't do again - thank you :) )

Lozzy, we don't have a problem where recipes come from if they are good  -  I'm sure all people in the Thermomix community are happy to share their recipes as we do here as long as they are linked.

I love red lentils and enjoy Dahl. This should be nice. I may wait for a winters day though, but the weather we have been having is indicative of winter not summer.  ;D

:D this is a regular dish I frequently make, so tasty and easy to make! Generally omit chilli and use evaporated coconut milk instead.

Making this today! Quick question would the tmx bowl be able to take a double batch? (for freezing) or should I do each batch seperate?

It wouldn't take a double batch Coops, the liquid alone would amount to over 1 litre without all the other ingredients.  I would do 2 separate batches.

Made this for tea last night served with rice and a few vegies, very tasty but I could have taken a bit more spice, didn't have chilli flakes just chilli powder so maybe next time will try flakes
