I have not been completely satisfied with the original recipe, so I have continued to experiment. I have finally come up with 2 possibilities.
1. The LEMON DISH WASHING CONCENTRATE, originally from the UK TMX site, with 1 additional liter of hot water added to the original recipe, and placed in a 'squirt' bottle, provides a good wash, but no bubbles.
2. SPRAY AND WIPE, by Burmington on the Forumthermomix site. I did some measuring and found that, in a glass jar that holds 2 1/2 cups of liquid, squash as many citrus peels in and fill jar with vinegar. Let stand for about 2/3 weeks.
After this time, pour out liquid into a 750 ml. bottle,( about 1/2 cup) add 2 teaspoons of eucalyptus oil and fill the bottle with water. Again, no bubbles.
I added 1/4 a cup of this to a 1/2 sink of hot water and tested it by washing a very greasy frying pan in it. It did a good job.
Both these preparations need a good shake before squirting into sink.

Any preference for either one Chookie or happy with both options?

Judy, both seem to work. I think it is a case of what you have. Citrus peel or plenty of lemons. The peel in the jar is probably easier, but makes only 750 mls. The Lemon concentrate makes 2 liters. I prefer the Dish Washer Tablets (powder form) for the machine. I will continue to try both.

I've had 3 jars of orange peel in vinegar for Brumington's recipe sitting in the pantry for weeks for the spray & wipe recipe. Had to stop making it as we eat a few oranges a week and I am well ahead of myself.
I'm still using your original kitchen sink cream to self clean the TMX, have quite a bit on hand of that too.
I'm very happy with the dishwashing powder recipe but I do use more than it says.

Chookie I think you must be an industrial chemist in disguise. :) :)

Cookie, wish I was, then I wouldn't have so much trouble trying to understand the different results.
