Hi everyone I'm new here but have been lurking for a little while looking at all of your yummy recipes.
So after about a year of gentle persuasion DH has agreed to purchase a Thermomix!! We had a demo on mini Monday night and my new baby will be delivered on Tuesday ;D
I'm really looking forward to trying it out - I've even to taken the day off so I can have the whole day to play :)
-
Hello and welcome, gentle persuasion won my DH over too ;D, just in time for Christmas and great idea taking the whole day of work, have fun xx
-
Hi Chickie, welcome to the forum. Up here for thinking, a day off to play with your new Thermomix baby is a must. If you've been lurking you must feel as if you know us already so welcome aboard and we look forward to hearing about all your adventures with this wonderful machine.

Hello and Welcome chickie, look forward to hearing all about your adventures with your new TM!! :D
-
Welcome to the forum Chickie. So what recipes are you going to try first?
-
Hi Chickie and welcome to the forum. What are you going to be cooking?
-
Hello and Welcome chickie, do you have a shopping list ready ;D
-
Hello and welcome to the forum. It's a very exciting time just ready for a Christmas workout.
-
Thank you everyone for the kind welcome.
I have decided to start with some curries as DH loves them. I will be making Indian patties with raita for entrée, Beef Massaman and Thai chilli chicken and basil with some Naan for the main and lemon sorbet for dessert. I hope they turn out ok :)
I do have a big grocery list written and my consultant told me about a really good online store where I can purchase a lot of my whole grains and spices and things quite cheaply. I have just put in a big order :)
I'm really looking forward to trying out making my own rolls and bread as well

A very warm welcome to the forum.

Hello Chickie and welcome to the wonderful forum :D

Hi Chickie
I got my "Thelma" a few weeks ago and am in love :)
By the way, what online store do you use for grains etc?
Xxx

Welcome to he forum Chickie :)
-
Welcome to the forum.
-
Congratulations chickie. I don't think you we're the first to use 'gentle persuasion' and I know you won't be the last :o :o ???. All those poor husbands out there!! Mind you, I don't hear too many of them complaining about their dinner!! Have a fantastic day on Tuesday!
-
Welcome Chickie. What a sensible idea to take the day off. I'm sure you will have a fun day.
-
Hi and welcome
-
Hi Chickie welcome to the forum
-
Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome. Only one more sleep and my thermie is arriving!!
The online company I used to purchase my grains etc is called 2 brothers. They seem reasonably priced and deliver for 3.50 in Perth. My ingredients should be here today so not sure about the quality yet.
I've been doing a lot of research on here for tips, tricks and recipes. This is such a great site for information, I'm very lucky that I found it :) Thank you to everyone who contributes and I hope one day I'll be experienced enough to make a worthwhile contribution to the forum.
-
I'm sure you will get to that stage very quickly Chickie, have fun tomorrow.
-
Hi Chickie, well I do hope you get some sleep tonight ;) you will be cooking all night long in slumberland, good idea to cook what DH loves so he can love Thermie too
-
Welcome to the forum Chickie
-
Welcome Chickie. I'm Chookie so you must make some of my recipes. You know , like mother , like daughter. ;D. I have posted some Indian recipes. The Naan seems to be quite popular. I also make the Madras Curry powder from the Indian Book. If you need any help, Mum is usually here, however if not, there are lots of Aunties who will help. ;D
-
Hi Chickie and welcome to the forum ;D
-
It's arrived!!
Thanks everyone, yesterday was a huge success with my new thermie :)
Hi Chookie, I definetly will be giving many of your recipes a go ;D I tried two of them yesterday - Indian Patties and Naan. Everyone really loved them - especially the naan. The kids only wanted to eat that for dinner and DH said its the best he's had. ( hence he is now very impressed with the thermie :) )
I also made JD's Thai chilli chicken and basil which DH said was restaurant quality!! Some raita to go with the patties, some brown rice and beef massaman. After all of that I was too worn out and family was too full to make the sorbet - will make tonight.
I can safely say I am officially obsessed with my thermomix haha.
-
Oh congratulations on your new arrival! ;) Sounds like you have already become 'one-of-us' ;D
-
I'm glad you have won your DH over with the meals so far Chickie, you have so much choice on our forum.
-
Wow, Chickie, you sure went for it. Glad you had successes. Now to try more recipes.
