Has any great baker on here perfected these biscuits, they're usually sold in tins around this time of year.
Thanks very much in anticipation!

DJ this (http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/recipes/aww-basic-vanilla-butter-biscuit/53998) recipe on RC is for a butter biscuit - no photo unfortunately but you will need to use a dough press to get the fancy shapes. There are no reviews though so you would need to do a batch to test the recipe.
Someone is bound to have a tried and true recipe for you though. I love those tins of biscuits but haven't bought any for a few years now.

These are nice
Butter cookies by Luke Nguyen
Ingredients
125g unsalted butter, room temp
115g superfine caster sugar, (i re blitzed mine)
1/8tsp salt
1/4 tsp natural vanilla extract, I used 1tsp vanilla bean paste
225g plain flour
Method
Place butter in TM until creamy looking
Add sugar, salt & vanilla, beat on speed 4 until mixed well
Add the flour, i used the button until the crumbs were clinging together
Remove from TM, combine together with hands, a few seconds, wrap in glad wrap, put in fridge for 1 hour
Preheat oven to 180, roll out & cut into shapes, place on lined baking tray
Cook 10 mins or until golden
Leave to cool on tray, then transfer to wire rack.
This made 25 bone cutter cookies for, i will then drizzle with with chocolate.
Enjoy

Mum buys one of these tins every year. They are so yummy can't stop at just one.

Julie, I ordered some dinosaur cutters today and I am going to try your recipe for you-know-who. I recently made him some chocolates in a dinosaur shaped mold and he was over the moon with them. A little tin of his own personal biscuits to go with the 19 dinosaur books will be greatly appreciated.

You will have to call him a Fletchosaurus.

Will do Cookie, he will love it but then he will lecture me and tell me there is no such thing. He knows so much and poor Grandma doesn't even know the proper name for any of them :-))
-
I guess I have that to look forward to. ;D Hope the dinosaur cookies turn out. :D

We used to do a dinosaur theme at school every now and then. Everything we did was related to dinosaurs, maths, writing etc etc. the kids loved it. They taught me a fair bit about dinosaurs.

JulieO can these cookies be rolled or chilled and cut?
I have not got, nor am getting a machine.
Thanks
