Well having just read the new rules , I was looking for a thread that was headed something like this. Not having found that scrolling through 50 pages of chit chat threads I think it may be ok to start a new thread where we can put some positive consultant stories and when we search that out we can find this thread easily.
Ok having prefaced that and probably not succinct enough but here goes.
A good consultant story from me. Ok I know what you are thinking. Be nice.
On October 14 I emailed my consultant who is now a group leader having tried the job of branch manager finding it not to her liking. I think she is more of a hands on people person and this is a pretty big area up here with a fair amount of travelling involved in being a manager. In any case ....
On the 14th I emailed her that my Thermothingy needed servicing . On the 15th she replied asking what the problem was. I replied that the switch was twitchy and I kept getting error 31 and 52 plus it kept turning itself back on. Also the faceplate was losing it's charm as well as the numbers and one of the rubber buttons has a hole in it.
On the 16th she said it needed fixing ASAP ( I hope that is not shouting ). This morning I had another email saying she will be here at 1500 to pick it up. Which is what happened.
She is taking it home to check it out, packing it up and sending it to Brisbane . I do not have to do a thing. My consultant, who had the good fortune to have a wonderful mother who named her daughter the same name as my daughter, is doing all the things a good consultant should do.
So there you have it A Good Consultant Story.
Oh and BTW my good consultant told me that Vorwerk was looking in to the fact that the numbers, letters and symbols have a tendency to slide off the front piece in the tropics.
So not only did she give good service but she gave good information.
Maybe I will add a pic with Tapatalk.
Don't forget to read the new rules everyone.

Ignorant here. What and where are these new rules, and do I want to read them?

New rules Brenda. No!

I ran into my original consultant at a demo last week (the devil in a cookbook), haven't seen her since purchasing and another consultant actually did my demo. The good thing about this consultant is she said "I know you, Mich isn't it?"
It was nice that someone "knew" me. :)
-
Your thermomix looks rather sad Gert.
I will add to your story with mine. I didn't have a consultant as they gave it up. A very lovely lady who was a brilliant consultant adopted me. She was always there at the end of the phone and prompt if I needed parts/ books. On top of that she sent out lots of information. Nothing was too much trouble. She has since retired and now I have another lovely lady who even offered to adopt me again, risky when she knew me. She is just the same. Always there if you need help and sends out lovely information.
A big thank you to these 2 ladies Xx

Gert, i also have a great consultant. Lovely Anita. As well as doing a difficult job she is also one of the nicest, kindest people i know. She is truly a beautiful person, While she is super supportive about all things TMX, i would also do any thing i could for her. I believe what comes around goes around. ( have I got this right?)

If only that were true Chookie. Often bad things happen to good people. Take this with a grain of salt though. I'm having a pity party. :'(
-
Do you need a hug mcmich?
Gert
-
Yes, please Gert.
-
Gert please summarise the new rules, what is different?
Thx
Ps yes terrible things happen to good people. (Lol my iPad put terrible thighs, yes that too,)
-
Hugs from here to Michelle :D

For you mcmich. Ok MM off topic but as needs be

Thanks Gert & Robyn. Feeling much better already. :)

I also learned that when travelling with your THERMOTHINGY in the car that it should be placed on it's side to avoid damage to the feet. A good thing to know . Those of you who remember unpacking your machine will remember that it is packed on it' s side.
Gert
-
Can we all come to your pity party Michele - we'll bring the drinks and the nibblies and before the night is over we will all have forgotten what it was that we were feeling down about. Group hug please ladies.

-
Lots of BIG hugs to Michelle. Yes bad things happen to all of us, no matter how hard we try. But on balance , there are more good people in this world than bad ones. There are more nice things that happen to us all than the bad things. It is just that we remember the nasty things. Look how you helped me with the Linking. I am linking all over the place now.
-
Funny thing about pity parties is that they often turn into mutual admiration parties when we realise that we are actually pretty strong and can overcome a lot of stuff by sharing hugs .
That is the women of course. Not slur on men intended .
Gert
-
Big hugs mcmich...
I don't have a consultant, I'm going to have to find myself one. When I was a consultant, for that brief crazy time, I re-connected with an old friend who's been one for a while. So, I think she'll be my consultant from now on. She's awesome!!
-
Big Hug Mcmich :-*
Marie
-
Hugs from me too :-* :-*
-
Well, thanks everyone. All happy again now.
Anniversary of late DH's passing. I am very blessed though, I wasn't left struggling financially. I had a job and a very good one at that. I have found love again. I have nothing to complain about. :D
-
So glad you feel better, have sent hugs anyway. It would be a very great sadness.
Xxxxxx

To have found love twice means you are doubly blessed.
Gert
-
Glad you are back on top of things Michele, you can't help but be sad on some anniversaries. :-* :-*
-
Oh Judy I missed my THERMOTHINGY today when making corned beef. Used the SOS to make a mustard sauce in a SAUCE pan. Yes I am shouting!
Gert
-
Gert, that is truly awful. hang in there.
Michele, glad you are through that one. ;D
-
Gretchen, you need to read Rule 6.2 I think ;)

Gert

Glad you are feeling better Mich

Being without my Thermothingy is worse than I thought! No word.
Gert

Hope you will be re-united with it soon Gert. I have not had my machine very long but I would sure miss it if it had to go away.
Marie

You are not going to believe this.
Tamera from HO in Perth rang me at 0850 this morning to tell me that my consultant had Expressed my Thermothingy via TNT. To Brisbane and as soon as the technician had a look at it she would be getting back to me directly or via my consultant to tell me what they were doing.
It would have been 0650 for her in Perth. We now know that HO in Perth at least put an employee on early to cater for the East Coast customers.
Tamera was lovely, bright , cheerful and informative. How refreshing.
Gert
-
Lucky you Gert ;D
And refreshing to hear something positive ;D
-
Wow, thats amazing Gert
-
That's good Gert hopefully you will have it back soon ;D ;D
-
And just before Tamera left work today she phoned me to tell me she had not been able to get in touch with the technician but would phone me with my news as soon as she heard back from him.
Well done.
Gert
-
My TMX was playing up last week, showing error 52 everytime we clicked the lid on. After reading the thread here about error 52 possibly being related to moisture, we tried to dry it out that evening and overnight, but no luck getting it working. We rang HO in Perth on Friday mid-morning, and had the TMX to the technician by Fri afternoon.
First thing Mon morning it was all fixed, ready to be collected. Loose connection apparently. Free of charge.
Wonderful service.
Thanks HO and special thanks to Monika and Cez (SA TMX people)
-
Good news Karen, life can return to normal now it's back.
-
wonder if HO ever looks at this..
Hope you get it back soon Gert... :)
-
Today I received an email rather than a phone call from Tamera in HO. I guess the honeymoon is over. LOL!
My Thermothingy will be dispatched with TNT from Briabane on Mondays afternoon.
Tamera is now working on the Quote which she is trying to have discounted due to the long delay.
I am imagining big price.
Gert
-
Hopefully you will get it on Tuesday Gert ;) ;)
-
Hopefully you will get it on Tuesday Gert ;) ;)
That would be miraculous. Packages take forever to get to the far north.
Gert
-
Maybe Wednesday then :( :(
-
So Funny, ;D ;D ;D ;D
Unless you are prepared to pay airfreight, it will take a couple of days.
Faster to get to the moon... :) :)
-
At least you know when it is leaving Brisbane Gretchen - did they say what the problem was and what had to be replaced or won't you know that until you get the invoice. I just hope she doesn't double the price because of who you are ;) ;D
-
As I said I think the honeymoon is over. Our resident tale teller has not doubt sent a red flag email Gert alert.
Funny that they did not give me a quote before fixing but just went ahead withough giving a choice. I find that strange. The TNT bill will no doubt be astro when I might have been offered a cheaper alternative. Or maybe not. Who knows? I guess they assume everyone has the ability to pay and wants their machine Poste Haste. I probably would have sent it by Australia Post but they probably have an account with TNT. Oh wait I have a TNT account too. Didn't think of that.
Whatever. No criticism there.
No Tamera did not say what the problem was and to be fair she may not know. Maybe just got a promise from the technician that he would be sending it back on Monday. I am thinking he may be finding cockroach or gecko poo in the works. They certainly can get into some very small places. I always keep the jug in the machine to avoid that but the sneaky buggers may get in when I am not looking or leaving the jug to dry on the sink.
So far so good with the service. I am hoping it will look like new. I will post a pic when it returns.
Gert
-
I guess they could get in through the vents on the side Gretchen? I hope they give you a detailed account of the problem.
-
Yes they could Judy. Last year the geckos ate the motherboard for one of our Airconditioners. Re also get into the computer boards of washing machines. That is why I still have the old dial up.
Gert
-
Just had an email from Apple regarding my cover for the new mini iPad . It has been sent via TNT. It will be interesting to see which arrives first. The Thermothingy sent from Brisband tomorrow afternoon or the cover sent from who knows where by Tuesday . LOL!
Gert
-
Extra good story from Tamera this morning..
My Thermothing will be sent out this arvo by TNT and should arrive Tomorrow or Wed.
She told me all the things they have done and it sound like I have a new machine.
I bought it in Feb 2009.
If I can remember.....
They have replaced some parts , the front plate, buttons , lid seal, recalibrated the scales, cleaned the cockroach fried bits, plus done this and that. They have discounted some of the work. They are replaced some by way of good will.
The bottom line was $293. I feel that is fair. I paid by cc over the phone and was offered alternatives.
When I get the invoice with the breakdown and the technician's report I will show you. Good for us to know.
As far as I know the seal was fine but nice to have a new one. The scales were fine as far as I know but good to have them recalibrated anyway.
The service was excellent and the communication is great. Tamera has done a good job and is a nice person.
I am please dealing with this side of HO.
Happy gertie
-
Oh I forgot to tell you that Tamera says they have similiar problems with critters and sliding number in the Northern Territory.
Tamera recommends placing a plastic table mat under the Thermothingy at night after spraying it with bug spray.
My DD uses a cockroach bait underneath hers . Tamera says to not leave the bait under it while cooking as the machine does generate some heat.
Good ideas in critter country.

Gert - really glad to hear an " all's well that ends well" . . .roaches are just hell - A friend of ours lost a dishwasher to them . . and another a fridge. Thanks for the warning - I'm not in the tropics but on the northern beaches in Sydney and I've noticed an increase in roach activity since the weather has warmed up - not those pesky can't kill'em with a brick little ones that seem to travel into your home in the boxes from fruit markets, etc. but the larger ones. Will now take extra precautions particularly around the TMX.
Glad to hear you and your TMX will be reunited soon . . .and good to hear a good HO story, too . . :D
-
When I lives in Avalon I had them all the time. When I renovated my kitchen i decide it would all be open do I had now doors on the cupboards except under the sink. and I was vigilent there.
The fly in here all the time. The little ones can get into the tinest cracks.
Even the geckos won't eat them and we have plenty of them in the house as well.
Gert
-
Great to hear your story has a happy ending Gert. I have had a couple of dealings with Tamera and she has always been fantastic.
Moptop
-
Yes its that time of the year Getting into summer, and the critters come out of nowhere.
Glad you get your machine back soon Gert.
-
Big time parties been happening inside your Thermomix - I'm surprised your machine even worked. It will be so nice to get it back and be like a brand new machine for such a reasonable price. It's virtually been rebuilt. Thanks for sharing with us Gretchen.
-
Gert I am very pleased that your thermothingy is better and on its way home. I agree that it was a reasonable price too
Did you send it under an assumed name?
It is wonderful that HO can do so well with this, although we hope we don't have to use it too often. You will be right now and be back thermothinging in no time.
-
Oh yeh they party big time.
Just to clarify things .....
As you can see from the bill it was $667.50 so I received a discount of $374.50 which is a lot of goodwill which was just as well because if I had been given the option of agreeing to that quote I most likely would have said no and bought the other one which is in my sights.
As it is I m happy. But let this be a warning to others. The repair and replacement of parts should probably be quoted first and you just wear the cost of transporting it if you decline.
Also if the repair bill gets that high you might be given the option of buying a new one at a discount. The refurbished one could then be used as a demonstrator or a loan one by HO.
You would be extremely disappointed if you had saved for a long time or bought the Thermothingy on the time plan and after 31 months it needed that amount of work done through no fault of your own. Ok maybe I should have rounded up them nighttime cockies . But the other things should not have happened.
To be absolutely fair, the machine is, after all, built to European conditions. Maybe those going to tropical climates like Malaysia and KL plus Au need some sort of fine mesh inside the vents and a different sort of permanent markings and sterner rubber bits.
In any case that is for Vorwerk to figure out if it is a big problem for them.
So before sending the machine to a technician you might want to ask that a quote be given before any work is done so you could consider the options. I have no doubt that most would say yes go ahead but not everyone has nearly $700 to pay for repair of a Thermothingy less than 3 years old..
Just clarifying things .
Gretchen

That thought did pass my mind but as you know cookie I am completely up front with people. I dislike duplicitness in others and try never to be that person.
While there may be nefarious dealings elsewhere I believe Vorwerk to be meticulous regarding the reputation of their machine. They have done well by me in that regard as I am sure they have been with others.
I think the problem of bugs getting into the works is something they will have to resolve with their designers and engineers in the next model.
They are doubt collating reports from their various technicians from around the world as we speak.
Where I see a job done well I like to give credit where it is due. My consultant in Cairns, the lovely Tamera in Perth and the technician in
Brisbane all did a splendid job. Thank you.

Yay!!! Oh happy days... You must be busy cooking up a storm! No wonder you were getting
cranky :-X um... how about "tense"? Anxious maybe? ;) :-* over the past few weeks... you must have been in Thermo-withdrawal. >:( So glad things are returning to um 'normal' :-)) :o up there in Cairns.

Cranky? Tense? Anxious? I think you meant benign, relaxed and calmly waiting for the return of Thermothingy.
Did you see MY loaf of Sour Dough I made today? We have good flying yeast DOWN here in Cairns..
You better get back to packing up your scrubbies, brushes, spatulas and stickers for us down here.
BTW the brush was terrific for cleaning the blades of sticky dough. And the spatula for cleaning the bowl.
I also made yogurt today and the scrubbie was needed for wee bit of e stuck on milk.
How is it you have found. so many useful things to go with the Thermothingy?
I hope my scrubbies are on their way so I can do my Christmas hampers.
Gert
-
I have found this today and have dotted the stuff all over the place . As I was moving the cockroach baits from around my Thermothingy one crawled out of the bait. Great!
Hope this keeps them away.
Gert
-
There breeding heaps at the moment.
-
How do you use that Gretchen?
-
It is a white cream and you just put dots of it where needed and where you do not wash the area often. I cannot think of what to do apart from sealing the machine up somehow but then I would not bother using it! I need to have some sort of barrier.
Gert
-
Judy, was kind to share her scrubbies with me, but everyone who sees them wants one. You all know how hopeless i am at ordering on line, so a very good friend ordered a very big lot for me and some for her. Today I was able to give one to a friend as a 'spotters fee". She spotted a double pipe loaf tin in an antique shop.
Gert , i could cope with the gekkos but not the cockroaches. Do they eat through heavy plastic ? Think I will stay in the cold south with just the wombats.
-
I.m with you Chookie, love the gecko's , but Gert can keep the Cockies. I' m going to start checking out some op shops for bread tins.
-

That was a great find for you . Worth two scrubbies I think. And what A great idea to have some scrubbies on hand to give .
Not hard heave plastic but then can squeeze into about any space and eat just about anything.
Gecko droppings are not very nice either. When I have my starter outside on the patio. I had to protect it not only from the rats , cocoul pheasants but also the geckos poop as they run around the ceiling all night long. Sometimes the ibis will jump on the tables and leave nasty white poop.

The joys of living in the tropics Gert.... :D :D :D :D
-
Gert - you know those glue traps? would it be worth making a barrier around the TMX maybe just using the base(s) - the roaches would have to cross it to get to the machine . .and hopefully get stuck . . .
-
Gert - you know those glue traps? would it be worth making a barrier around the TMX maybe just using the base(s) - the roaches would have to cross it to get to the machine . .and hopefully get stuck . . .
I have been looking for them. . I found a cockroach in my coffee machine this morning.
Gert
-
If you can't find them locally, Gert - try here.. . I had to get them online, too
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3907.m570.l1313&_nkw=glue+roach+traps&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Otherwise, you'll have to be cooking, making coffee, etc etc in a hermetically sealed tent!!
I lived in New York for a number of years and every three months or so the exterminator would come into the apt . . only problem was the little (%^&%^$'s knew when he was coming, packed their bags and moved next door until it was safe to move back. The exterminator often reassured me that our problem was tiny compared to some he had seen - one being where he literally was forced to use an umbrella. Apparently, when the spraying starts the roaches head for the ceiling, become weak, die and fall to the floor. Inevitably, they were the little German roaches that multiplied by the bazillion and were into everything . . . .
-
Thanks or that . I will be investigating. Seem cheap . First I will check with our pest controller.
Gert
-
You are not going to believe this but my DD's Thermothingy has to go to hospital too. Probably for the same reason. Hers is a lot newer than mine and she lives in a brand new apartment building on the third floor.
She is not a happy camper. As she suffers from Crohn's disease she really relies on her machine. Looks like I may have to lend her mine!
Gert
-
Oh no Gert what a shame. :(
Will be very kind if you lend yours to DD especially as she has special dietary problems :)
-
Hopefully they will give her a good quote and discount as they did you Gert. Luckily she has a mum with a TMX as she obviously does need one.
-
Good on you Gretchen, it sounds as if she needs hers more than you. Perhaps she can bring it over during the day for you to use then pick it up after work again. Wonder if the cockroaches catch the lift up to the 3rd floor or climb the stairs >:(
-
I hope they give her a quote first Judy. I think the cockies use the lift.
Gert
-
Is DD's Thermomix still under warranty Gretchen?
-
Not sure as she cannot find her papers.
Gert
-
She didn't staple it inside the manual by any chance did she? That's where I keep mine.
-
I always do,the same . But not her. First thing I asked. Anyway our consultant should know
Gert.
-
HO should also know when she purchased Gert, hope it is still under warranty and gets fixed soon
-
Hope it can be fixed soon Gert, and that there is not too much wrong with it. Those cockroaches sure cause some problems.
Marie
-
Yes they do . I have put dots of cockroach bait everywhere now. Ants are a problem as well but they seem to disappear if you use the proper stuff. Not so those cockies.
Gert
-
Hope its under warranty Gert..
-
No it is not under warranty. It's was picked up on Tuesday and no word yet.
Gert
-
It has now been a six days since DD,s Thermothingy was picked up to go to Brisbane Overnight. She has heard not a word from her consultant, HO or the Technician. When mine went away a few weeks ago I was praising HO for being pro active with keeping in touch .
Seems not all customers are treated equal.
Gert
-
Amazing but my DD got a phone call from the techie and here is the problem and the quote.
The power board was shorted out by the cockroaches and that is the second most expensive part of the Thermothingy.
PROTECT your Thermothingy.

I'm gobsmacked!
-
OMG. Can't believe it.
-
Those cockroaches are a real problem Gretchen. I do hope someone is working with Vorwerk to alleviate this type of problem and I'd love to know how often this problem occurs in tropical climates. 2 in 1 family is a bit much though - will DD be prepared to pay that much, guess she has no alternative though and it is far cheaper than buying another one.
-
Yuck those cockroaches are a pain, is DD going to pay?
-
At least they gave you a quote and didn't just repair and send the bill. You get a lot of that today.
-
nasty cockroaches.
-
Yeah, I have covered it with bait dots and surrounded it by baits.
Gert
-
OMG :o
-
Bl......dy cockroaches, hope they are working out how to fix this problem, 2 machines in one family eaten by cockroaches, not good.
-
Nasty little blighters >:(
-
They got into a neighbours new supeduper expensive washing machine computerised board thingy and shorted it out. Good thing it was under warranty.
I don't know any way to protect it absolutely and have talked to several experts. Pity there is no other critter that actually eats cockroaches.
I thought about building a moat but they still fly. If I put it into a sealed bag of some sort I would probably not use it as much but who knows. Any ideas?

Are you on Twitter Gert? Maybe you if you are, you could make a comment on it and see what comes back. :-\

Yes CC I have a couple of Twitter accounts but use them only rarely. I find the twitters sphere unreal but I understand that it is a good marketing tool these days.
Same thing with FB which is great for families keeping in touch around the world but most is utter garbage. Not our forum mates on there of course.

And since you mentioned Twitter if anyone wants to know what Thermomixer is up to they can follow him on Twitter. Jeff the Thermomixer.

Maybe we could figure out something in the Thermothingy. There must be an industrial chemist out of 8000 members.

I think my friends DH is I will ask him when he get back from his latest trip.

It's been said that if the whole world was affected by a nuclear explosion, only cockroaches would remain.

I believe it MJ. I do think Vorwerk would be aware of the problem . Hopefully the new Thermothingy will have at least the power board protected. Meanwhile we should all be aware. I had cockroaches in Sydney as well albeit they were better behaved.

nasty cockroaches, we breed them big up north.. :)

Gert, I read somewhere and for the life of me cannot now find it where a lady was having a problem with cockroaches and an appliance and ended up buying 2 trays one larger than the other. The bottom tray was covered in salt and then on the top tray she placed the appliance, not letting the appliance touch the salt because of corrosion. She only put the appliance on this of a night and put the appliance back on the bench to use. Don't know whether this idea could be adapted or would work or not with the TM. Apparently they don't like catmint either but don't know whether that is true. Cross finders we don't have the problem here, probably too cold ;D

Thank you Marie. I will be measuring up for some trays. I will do Anything.trays won't be pretty but if it works who cares. I wonder if the salt is a goodies though with the humidity. Maybe rock salt. At the moment is is surrounded by cockroach baits and river of the white creamy stuff.
My daughter paid the ransom for hers today so if should be on it's way back.
Something has died in the airconditioner in the office. I have to wait for DH to get back from Adelaide as I won't climb a ladder without someone around. I may be old but I ain't stupid. The stink is pretty bad as it is about 32 degrees here. If I leave it it will eventually disintegrate but that might take a while and the fly's might get to it them I will have maggots falling on my desk. Only one more day won't hurt I guess.

Use a simple solution of soap and water. This, to some, is the easiest thing to do. Just make a light solution of soap (bath soap is fine) and water. You can splash this, spray this or just throw this on the roach. Just a little water will do, even 2 or 3 drops can kill, if used effectively. Ensure that it makes contact with the roaches head and lower abdomen (its belly if you can turn the roach over). The roach will run or try to run, but will suddenly stop and die or be almost dead in one minute. It is best to throw it out as soon as possible, as it may revive. This happens because the roach breathes through its skin. The soapy water forms a thin film on the breathing pores, and effectively blocks them (surface tension), causing the roach to suffocate to death or to near death, although it could recover if the water dries up or has not touched a large percentage of its body. Try this and you will have amazing results for free.

Obbie I would have to stay up all night hunting.!
Gert
-
Gert, that would be fun... with a torch.
Oh well, another cheap idea.
-
I don't think the salt would be a good idea with the humidity. When we had cockroach infestations in PNG I use to grease the top of a jar with Vaseline, place some banana or something else leave in a cupboard and on the bench, the next day I would put the lid on chuck in the bin, bye bye cockys.
I remember my first experience with them, coming from Tas never say them there, got up during the night went to grab a tissue the darn think was as big as my hand, wonder what I had got my self in to,my first night in the tropics, I think I laid awake for the rest of the night lol, that is many years ago.
-
If I ever see one I just stomp on it. Usually they are on their back anyway as there is that much pest control spray around the house. The people next door spray their house every two months so the cockroaches come here!
Gert
-
Another good idea Jeninwa. I could leave the captured cockies out as a warning to the others!
Gert
-
I reckon Vorwerk could make a TMX specifically for the tropics (!) where a small light stays on if plugged in at the wall, or even better with a small battery that is charged when the TMX is turned onon..roaches and many other pests don't like light, so maybe that would help...
-
That is try. I could buy a night light and plug it into the wall next to it. Another good idea to try.
Gert
-
Anything would be worth a try to get rid of those horrible little critters.
I had no idea they could cause so much damage until I read about your problems Gert.
Hopefully your DD will have her TMX back soon as good as new :D
-
Well you can never ever get rid of them and that is the problem. If you could stop them breeding somehow that might work. The houses where I live are built in a former stone quarry. Nothing much for them to eat there but my house backs right on a creek and the rain forest is all around . Lots of critters but not one of them will eat the damn cockies. I would even have a mouse or rat in the house if it would eat the things! Oh wait I have had a mouse or rat in the house often.
Gert

Oh my God
I just heard what happened to you and your DD Gerth
I am so sorry
I hate cockroaches, find them so disgusting but it wouldn't ever come into my mind that they could make such a great damage!
I once saw on the outside wall of our apartment building, I kept all the windows closed for many days, I opened them just to change air and then closed back! it was summer time and we don't have AC ! It continued this way until my husband rebelled!
Last year I saw one, definitely entered from the window I believe because it was in our bedroom!
Even more, it was just over the headboard! I almost lost my mind!. I sprayed everywhere in the bedroom
It was obviously dead but the smell remained
We slept in another room for several days
I washed everywhere! all the sheets, floors, bed, furniture, curtains ...all
That time i had researched a lot. I read that you should find where they enter from and place roach baits (like those of Raid) at those specific locations. Well... the climate is different over there so this might not be enough for your case.
They say cockroaches can live for one month without food, one week without water!
I hope you solve your problem soon for good !!

There have been lots of similar complaints. I would think the new model will offer more protection. I hope so.
It takes only one cockroach one trip through the circuit board to do this and it could happen on the first day you own it.

. . . or perhaps heightened training schedule in the high and long jump!!! ;D ;D
I'm getting nervous now as I've had to deal with two babies in the kitchen just this week . . . and where there are two there are bound to be heaven only knows how many more sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc etc . . . >:(

I had to do a double take at the cockroach bait traps as I thought they were land mines :D :D :D :D :D :D

I am not taking any chances . If I see an geckos near it I will rip their bl##dy heads off as well. I hate those things.
Gert
-
Gert, I thought geckos ate roaches . . . ???
-
Never have seen it but geckos like the light so they can get flying things. If they would eat cockies I would get a pet one on a rope and tie it to my Thermomix at night.

I'm so pleased the idea is working (so far!)
I found a roach in our house the other day...thinking I might need to take my own advice!

Gert do you leave your tmx plugged in turned on at the wall?
