Hi all. I have recently purchased a Thermomix and am already having lots of fun. I am a member on a few Facebook pages buy thought it was time to join up the forum. I am a mum to two small boys and I love cooking healthy snacks and meals for them. They certainly keep me busy. Looking forward to getting to know you all and join in on the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum Julie

Hi Julie, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy it here as much as you do being on Facebook. Have you made any of the recipes from here or are you using the books? As you have probably already seen, we have enough recipes here to keep you going for ever without cooking the same thing twice so please help yourself to anything on here that takes your fancy and when you have the time post a review so that others may try the recipe as well.

Welcome Julie. What are your favourite types of things to make?
Have you made any breads yet?
-
Hi Julie,
Welcome to the forum! I'm also from Melbourne and have a little girl a little boy and now a new baby boy too! Hope you enjoy all of the amazing recipes and people on this forum...it's great!
-
Thank you very much for the welcome. So far we like porridge, steamed veggies, curry, smoothies and salads in the thermomix. Haven't tried any breads yet. Not keen on white bread. Look forward to trying lots of recipes. I have two little boys - two and four years old.

Welcome to the forum Julie :D
-
Thanks again ladies. Can anyone recommend a good recipe book to buy for everyday family recipes? Oh and we love our curry too.
-
There are a lot of recipes on here Morgan, the indian cookbook is also good the butter chicken is lovely
-
Quick Fix in the Thermomix is quite good for family recipes, although I tend to get most of my recipes from this forum.
-
Hello and welcome to the forum Julie! :D

Welcome Julie

Hi Julie,
Yep, I probably use this forum the most to get my family meals. Does your family eat risotto...there are some really good ones on here, and great pasta dishes too. I found a recipe on here last night that I am looking forward to making, it's called 'Chicken and Bacon macaroni cheese'. It looks delish and it's got great reviews! I think it will be on the menu for the weekend.
Another recipe I love is from Quirky jo's website and it's the 'Fried' Rice. It's so quick and easy (takes total of 20 mins) and it's beautiful and halthy (it's all steamed, not actually fried...and it just uses up anything you've got in the fridge pretty much).
Other than that, there are a few recipes in the EDC, but again, most of the recipes I use are from here.
As for Curry's, you're lucky your little muchkins eat them...mine aren't too keen on curry. They'll eat a very very mild butter chicken but not much more!
Good luck...there are so many great family meals on here!
