I wanted to make a loaf of Sour Dough Fruit Bread and it has turned cold again. Only 16 o inside. As I have the dehydrator out I thought I would use this for warmth.

Dehydrator as heat source for bread.

That's an excellent idea, ACW! I had your no fuss bread out on the driveway in the sun this morning!! :-)) ??? The only warmth around!! :-))
-
GF, great idea, but no sun here.

Like you new avatar goldfish :)
What's the temperature under the towel Chookie, great idea.

Yes it is a great idea Chookie. Keep them coming. :D

It is set on 40 o now. I had it warmer but have moved it down. Not sure that the Sour Dour likes it, but will persist and see what happens.

I have a Harvest Maid dehydrator, it is round and you stack the shelves up upon each other, I was thinking upon this and if it works ok Chookie I might make some sort of frame , sew a cover for it it would be a great solution for a warm place to rise the starter

AB, excellent idea. Years ago when we didn't have dried yeast, I used my frypan, set very low, with water in it, sat the bread dough on a wire rack and a friend made a wooden frame, and I threw a light cotton cloth over the lot. Great. this is a dry atmosphere but being in the Tmx jug is therefore OK.

we have sunshine, its hot today. 29 here

Great idea... :)

Great idea Chookie. I could have done with that when I tried to make Herman the German and it died I think because it wasn't warm enough at night.

even with this warmth, my Sour Dough has taken 7 hours today. I will knead some fruit in by hand and leave out over night. It just cannot be hurried.!,,
