Title: How are you using your scrubbies!
Post by: gertbysea on August 31, 2012, 01:57:47 am
I am using mine to clean my tub and  spa jet thingys.

I used it to  rub my heels while in the bath.

I used it to clean bird poop off the car windows.

I used it to clean the racks in my oven.

I even used it on my THERMOTHINGY.

Thanks Gert and didn't you wipe your racks in the oven? Or was that someone else?

I have discovered I will need more than one. But MJ is helping out with that small problem.
Do you think we can wash them?

I was wondering that too Cookie. When mine gets dirty I will put in a lingerie bag and try it.

When washing in the washing machine I put mine inside a sock so it did not get stuck to anything.

Try putting your scrubbies in the dishwasher(making sure they are secure ;)) to wash.I always put my kitchen brushes and scouring pads in when my dishes are on a wash cycle.

Yes, I will think I need the bulk pack. I am hanging out more for the bigger scrubbies. I hate cleaning but if I can avoid it any way I will go the easy option and go the blooming big pack  :D With all the money that I have saved over the years on doing the cleaning myself and I have an idea up my sleeve...just trying to push it away cos I have lots of ideas up my sleeves like this and need to restrain myself somehow aaagh...

CC good idea. I keep a stainless steel scrubbie in the dishwasher at all times to ward of the stink  so I should have thought of it.

Sue Kellie Jen Jen we are glad you all came to the Fest . All of you behave.

I've done the glass splashback and glass stove top stove using the scrubby and miracle cleaner. Dried off with a microfibre cloth and it comes up a treat. I then did the sink as well and was very happy with the results there too. I'd love a mitt made out of this stuff.

Up there for thinking Gert!

Mine still haven't arrived. Usually stuff arrives really quickly from Helene, but not this time. It'll be AusPost holding it up, not Canada Post, for sure.

Today I have cleaned my oven racks - came up well but what I was really impressed with was how it bought the glass stove top up. I used the scrubbie and a bit of gumption and dried it off with paper towel. It sparkles.

Yes but I'm a lazy devil when it comes to sewing.  A big one may be all I need rather than a mitt - I'll wait until I order and receive my pack Gretchen then see what I think of the big one.

I did what CC suggested, put my kitchen scrubby in the dishwasher (made a hole in it and hung it on a hook) and will do this on a daily basis.

I used mine to clean the bugs of the windscreen after driving home from Perth. I jut sprayed the windscreen with some window cleaner and gave it a quick scrub. All the dried on bugs came off easy peasy.

I've just been washing mine, in hot soapy water, used it to clean the glass on the inside the oven came up a treat.

I pined the scrubbies on pin it and linked to my FB and my friend in Canada commented that they had them there. lol
Had to tell her that's where it came from :D

These are fantastic.  We get a bit of scum on the shower floor from the tank water and soap.  I put it under my foot while having a shower and rubbed it around.  All gone,  great.

No, I wasn't cleaning for the cleaner. She starts today, so later in the week the shower will need doing again.
No way I'm cleaning for the cleaner. I have SIL that hand washes all dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. CRAZY.

I washed two of mine in the washing machine in a lingerie bag and they came up well.

Cleaned my oven glass with just the scrubbie didn't come up as well as I thought will use some gumption or something on it next time.

The shower came up good with just the scrubbie no cleaning product

Mich you probably know this, but if you don't use soap in the shower just shower gel or something like Dove you don't get the soap built up and showers stay clean a lot longer

Yvette, someone at work told me that. I just like to wipe my shower out every day and then there is no build up and full scrub twice a week.
I'm a bit OCD with bathrooms, laundrys and kitchens. Probably from nursing, I use over kill with cleaning products. It annoys me so much that I can't use bleach because we are on enviro system. Doing the planet a favour though.

Mich I still clean my shower every week but it doesn't look that bad. We used to have an enviro cycle too when I lived at Nelson (near Rouse Hill) and although they said not to use bleach I still did with no problems

Interesting Yvette. Our house is 13yrs old and we had the system pumped out last year.
I use bleach on paper towel that I throw in the bin and doesn't go down the drain.

I cleaned some gunk off wardrobe doors with some jiff that previously did not want to come off.

Also with jiff and scrubbie cleaned my son's wall that had blue marks on it from his stable table.

I used my scubbie that was generously part of my goodie bag from MargAret River for the first time yesterday. It is faaantastic!
It cleaned the burnt on mess at the bottom of my bowl better than anything else I've tried before.
Today, I went to wash my son's jeans and discovered a weird green substance spilled on the inside of the jeans. I asked him what it was and he said "slime". Yuk! I soaked them in napisan and washed them in the machine, but when I went to hang them on the line, the slime was still there. Inspiration struck and I used white vinegar and my scrubbie on the slime, and hey presto, it was gone. Yay! Yay! Yay!
As soon as I get a moment, I am going to buy some more.
Thankyou Helene :)

I've just done a basketful of ironing and this vest of DH's had been inadvertently put in the washing machine when it should have been hand washed.  It's black although it looks grey in the picture.  Normally I would bin something this bad but today I wet a brand new scrubby and just look how it came up.  It also removes bits and pieces of tissues from clothes when you have forgotten to go through the pockets :-))

Love the scrubbies in the bathrooms an kitchen.
Gave one to my cleaner and she loves it too  :)

The bugs have been bad lately and very difficult to get off the windscreen. I spray them with glass cleaner and use my scrubbie, they come off quickly and easily.
