Title: PC trouble!!!
Post by: Halex on August 29, 2012, 05:07:45 am
My pc is not working properly. It has done this before & I put it down to user error.

Making soup for lunch, it gets hot but doesnt count down, boils away, steam comes out then beeps to say that it is finished.

Anyone else have this problem?

i still haven't got around to taking my electric one back, really need to do it. I'm very happy with the stove top one and there's no chance of any electrical problems.

Hally I read this pc as your computer and then couldn't understand why it was getting hot and having steam come out. Drr. Then it clicked pressure cooker.

Halex,
Do you have the New Wave one ? I had the same problem.  The floating switchy thing that you turn to pressure seemed to be faulty on mine. It was a real knack to get it to stay otherwise too much steam would escape and cause it to not reach pressure (and depending on what was in it cause the contents to dry out). I rang New Wave and they sent me a new lid but haven't tried the new lid yet.  So if it is a New Wave, it's not a new problem to them !

No mine is the cuisineart pc.

Seems to e a common problem. Hope they replace whatever part it is ie a new lid or a whole new pc.

Cookie your funny, if our computer was doing that I think  I would evacuate, lol.

I have my pc back. Just picked it up, the lady tested it about 10 times & once when I was there. Works perfectly for her. Of course isnt that always the way.

She was very nice but couldnt exchange it as there seems to be no problem. I have her direct line if it happens again. Just making stock with bones from the freezer, see how it goes.

Told her I would use it a lotif the next 2 weeks & see how it goes.

Good luck Hally. Hope it works for you. I'm still trying to get my money back for mine - between Matchbox and new wave it's becoming a real pain. Legally I'm sure Matchbox have to give me my money back and their website even states that but they still want a return number from New wave.

Enjoy the trip Hally. I am envious. Are you taking CP out of school?

Yes cp will miss 2 days of school, the teachers dont like it. I was growled at earlier this year when I spoke to the headmistress when he missed a few days to go on our cruise.

Today I am going to email them, after school pick up, that way they cant hold cp to ransom.

Good on you Hally, my DS has had 6 days off now, school is fine. he is sick, and they just give me work for him to do.

2 days is nothing  to be away from school.  Life experiences are better. :)

What grade is your son in ?  We are taking the kids out of school for 2 weeks in October for a crusie to NZ, we spoke to their respective teachers (they're in Prep and Grade 2), and they said they will learn far more experiencing the world in those two weeks than they would at school.  We have done it before as well. They will give us some work for them to do while we are away, but I'll be bribing them after breakfast every morning (non port days) to do half hour of school work, then they get to go to kids club !! '

They're probably jealous that they can't go outside of school holiday rip off prices !!! Seriously, don't let them make you feel bad, two days is nothing !

Enjoy your holiday !!

Its bad isnt it that I am too scared to tell them as I will get growled at.

He is in year 3.

PC, the lady rang me back, she as given me 2 options to think about, she is very nice.

1. Refund from Kitchenware Direct
2. Replacement which I am happy to do, but there is none in stock & none in Sydney, will be about 2 months.

I told her I would think about it.  Probably go with a replacement as I dont think I will get such a good price again.

Hally, I'm similar when taking the kids out of school for holidays. We have always taken them out and never had a problem, we have action packed holidays and they learn so much while we are travelling I think it's great life skills, but there is always at least one teacher that doesn't see it that way so I've learnt to keep pretty quite and leave a message or send a note on the final day. we have always taken the view that it's not the teachers responsibility to provide work in advance or ensure they don't miss anything, but we are careful to catch up with other parents and kids before and after a trip. Our eldest is going into her final year of high school so we won't be taking her out of school during next year but we have every other year and never had a problem.

In regards to the PC think about getting your money back and purchasing a stove top one, after using the stove top for a few months I find it much better than the electric one and it really should last a lifetime with just seal replacing whereas the electric really do have a limited life and much more prone to problems from what I can tell.

The headmistress really growled at me last time. We get paragraphs in our newsletters about how important it is not miss school & holidays are for holidays etc.

Wonder, I love the ease of the electric one, trying to get the pc to pressure on the stove top etc I find scary, the electric one does it all for you. Its. Shame you cant hire one for a week.

Just remade the stock & it was fine.

Hally, I've got the new wave one and loved it and until I tried the stove top one I was very nervous but when my new wave one died and I purchased a silit stove top and used it a few times I was converted.
