I love my things orderly and organized my friends comment on my pantry it looks like a Tupperware brochure ( I had weevils once so bought a heap of Tupperware and never had the problem again).
I love different sized storage boxes to keep things neat and tidy including keeping my cleaning products in, under the sink another to keep torches batteries and extension leads etc
I'd like to hear your best storage idea?
-
You have the best idea already - Tupperware!
-
I wish I was organised enough to offer you some ideas! I'll look forward to seeing responses to this thread.
-
My whole pantry is in Tupperware, I had none at all, then bought $700 of modular mates....
I have 1 plastics draw too, but everything has its lid on, just to grab and go.
-
My pantry is modular mates too.
I would love to have more organised laundry cupboards. That might be my job when I get back from WA.
-
I have tupperwware, lots of it, but need help, total mess mine.
:)
-
obbie were they the modular mates you got from oversea l think through ebay
l remember someone saying they had orderd some from overseas .
l was wondering what they are like
-
I ordered mine from o/s Nazzar as I can't get the cranberry lids here anymore. I got mine from Hong Kong and its great.
-
Michele, is it cheaper o/s?
H :)
-
Definitely.
-
thanks mcmich .
l thought someone got it from there
does it look the same and has it the tupperware name on it and does it preform the same way
-
Has anyone mentioned this yet?

Some time ago someone suggested a plate holder (I think) from Spotlight for storing baking trays, etc. To be honest I cannot remember whether it was actually a plate holder, but perhaps by putting this post here it will jog someone's memory.
-
thanks mcmich .

Looks exactly the same. I can't tell which is my origonal tupperware and which is the new stuff.
I'll bring you a container on retreat so you can see for yourself.
-
oh thanks for the offer mcmich
but no need to worry about bringing a container , l ll take your word for it .
thank you

I use mainly Decor for my pantry. It is a horrid mess. I have flour etc all in canisters but it is the bits and pieces, like half finished tiny teddies, and DD's chocolates that sit on the shelf and fall off.
-
Michelle, where did you buy your tupperware from overseas.
I would love more, but its so expensive.
-
The thing that annoys me most is that Tupperware doesn't nest like Decor does. How on earth did they get that so wrong? I have a mix of both, and the Decor stacks so much better and stays so much neater in the cupboard when it is not being used.
We get our fruit and veg once a fortnight through an co-op and I store it in a mix of fridge smarts and reusable green bags (that keep the produce longer). Tupperware says that you shouldn't need to store your fridge smarts as they should always be in the fridge with produce in them, unfortunately for me, by the end of 2 weeks, they are almost all empty and I have to find somewhere to put them. Why oh why can't they nest? ???
I would love to know how to keep a plastics cupboard tidy though....
-
Hi Pippa, I just put back the empty clean fridgesmart back into the fridge ready to be refilled. Same with the other Tupperware that goes in the fridge. They all have their home regardless of full or empty. That way they are always cold as well.
-
I have the fridgesmart, I find the long ones very bulky in my fridge & sometimes a nuisance. Do tou thi k they really keep the veg fresher longer?
H :)

Obbie, we have our whole pantry decked out with modular mates too. We bought ours from a tupperware distributer in Malaysia - about 1/3 of the cost it is to buy it here. I had troubles with my conscience at first as I like to support Australian businesses but then I got over it and realised how much they are ripping us off!!!!!! The tupperware is exactly the same, arrives promptly at your door and is CHEAP. If you go on to e bay and google tupperware modular mates - look for tupperware coming from Malaysia and it'll be the one!!!
-
Thanks Tam, I looked at ebay today, modular mates, and there was one from Malaysia.
I'll get some more from them.

I've just had a look there - it is SO much cheaper! Could you tell me if this is this the genuine Tupperware made in the USA . . and not elsewhere? It doesn't say on the listing . . . thanks!
-
Hi has anyone tried the Ultra Pro Tupperware?
-
Another storage tip is folding you sheets and putting them in a pillow case. I also put thetupperware lids in plastic draws .
-
Just looked at the cake snake page, in the testimonials page there is a picture of the cake snake in the cupboard with the Thermomix base sitting beside it......what the? Who keeps their TM in the cupboard? :-\
-
who would ever put the thermomix in a cupboard...

Problem is, I usually need the space for the things I have cooked. Will see if I can make that work as it is a good idea

Hello hello and what do we have here? A little bit of unwelcome activity happening in the back of the cupboard I see...
-
CP, when I was little I remember opening the fridge and finding those little blighters all over the place. Somehow they had escaped from Dad's container. Do you call them 'gents' like Dad used to?
-
just bl**dy weevils...again!
Must've been the one thing that I haven't frozen prior to putting in the cupboard.
-
They look exactly what Dad used to use as fish bait.
-
At least they were contained. Never forget waking up one morning and thinking someone had spilled the rice in my bedroom. At least you can herd them towards the light .
Gert
-
Lucky they were frozen and you found them
-
Not frozen --- only with fear when they knew they'd been sprung
-
What was that they were in CP?
Gert
-
I can't seem to get rid of the weevils in my pantry either CP, found some in my dried chili the other day.

Looking at those maggots reminded me of an incident that happened to me about 30 years ago.DH and I were living in the Doha at the time, supermarkets were very basic and when you saw stuff on the shelves you bought it.One day I happen to see some chocolate covered raisins for sale "oh nice" I thought and bought them. That day I decided I was going to be mean and eat the chocolate raisins all myself and not share them.So I start scoffing them, then half way through I bit into rather large raisin and OH!!! I bitten a maggot in half :o :o.I spat what was in my mouth clear across the room, gargled with hot tea that was in my other hand to rinse my mouth and put the remainder of the packet in the bin.DH just nearly wet himself when I told him :-))
-
CC, that will teach you not to share LOL
-
Nope these were not maggots, just friendly weevils that like to visit from time to time. need to go through my pantry and turf a few things soon.

Nasty little blighters to have in your pantry CP. We get them occasionally here in the UK and like you said very hard to eradicate.
-
Oh CP I really feel for you. I hate them with a vengeance.
-
CP bay leaves help get rid of weevils.
-
If you put dried stuff in the fridge for a few hour it will kill the eggs which are usually present.

Me too, I have bay leaves in every container, haven't seen any for ages and hoping it stays that way.
