Hi:
I'm Cate and I've just received my TM (after a few years of wanting one I finally took the plunge when I received an unexpected injection of funds!). I have two daughters (3 & 6) and a partner; all of whom love to eat.
I have a (neglected) blog (http://postimperfect.blogspot.com.au/) and I'm hoping to post some recipe tweaks as I start cooking (I put up a sponge today: not the greatest sponge, but a nice cake).
Cheers,
Cate

Welcome to the forum Cate :)

Hi Cate, from another 'inner northerner'. Happy cooking!
-
Hi and welcome Cate. I could be mean and say with Melbourne weather you will be able to whip up a soup and a cold sorbet all for one day, but at the moment Perth has been a bit like that too. :D :D I hope you are enjoying your machine.
-
Hello and welcome Cate. :)
From another mum of a (nearly) 6yr old daughter and a 3yr old daughter (and a 19mth old daughter too!) :)
-
Cookie's post just goes to show what a fabulously versatile machine the TMX is.
Whereabouts in Melbourne are you? I know we have members in Collingwood, Heidleberg, Clifton Hill and the CBD - we could almost form our own club!

Hi Cate and welcome I live down of the Mornington Pen. I will have to get my neighbour to join the forum so we can have more Melb members.

Dont forget me - I'm a Melbourne girl, in Greenvale, near Melbourne airport
I'm part of the Melbourne club too :-)

Welcome to the forum Cate.

Aussie Brenda and Chrissa, I wasn't intending to miss you, or any of our many Victorian members out in my post - I was just thinking of those I know of in the Inner North area. Sorry, I hope I didn't offend you.

Gosh, no offense taken whatsoever. Didn't even cross my mind I've got no idea where people are from until they mention the weather or the time !
-
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
Cate
PS- I'm in Thornbury and would love to catch up with some of the other Melbournians.
PPS- just had my first TM fail! Trying to make butter and mis-read the recipe (put the water and cream in together... luckily cream's on sale at the local IGA).
-
We used to live in Pender Street, Thornbury many years ago. I've met a few of the local TMXers, and I agree, it would be good to arrange a get together at some stage (sadly, easier said than done!).
-
I'm in Melbourne too!
Diamond Creek!
Jenny :)
-
I'm between two of you in Heidelberg. I grew up on High St Northcote and my parents still live there and I have a sister in Woolton Ave Thornbury, I also seem to send half my life in Diamond Creek these days with DS at the new stadium watching basketball. A Melbourne catch up would be great, I don't know anyone with a TMX.
-
.... so, does anyone want to organise a Melbourne get-together - perhaps just a coffee or perhaps a picnic in the park in the summer? Wouldn't it be great to get some of the out of town members involved as well. I'm afraid I cannot put my hand up to organise anything due to time and work commitments, but perhaps there is someone else who has a bit of free time and enjoys organising things??
-
Hi,
I am new to, I paid my deposit on Thursday and hope to have my Thermo next week. I am also a Northern Melbourne suburbs girl and I grew up in Fairfield and lived in Woolton ave when I first got married. Now I am in Macleod. I have been saving for quite a while and I am so happy to finally be getting my Thermomix.
-
Hi Crompo, welcome to the forum. Nice to see Melbourne numbers swelling and isn't it such an exciting time waiting for your delivery.
-
Welcome to the forum Crompo.Have fun cooking when you receive your TM :)
-
Welcome crompo, not far away in McLeod.
I would be interested in a get together but also can't put my hand up to organize at the moment due to a lot of other commitments I've already put my and up for and working but would be fine to help out after in the year.
-
Although I live out of Melbourne, in the Macedon Ranges, I would be prepared to travel to a Melb get together. Have long thought this a good idea. Problem is a venue.
Welcome Crompo, nice to have you join us.
-
Hi Crompo and welcome to the forum. You're going to love your TMX when it comes - in the interim, think about what you want to make first (check out suggestions on the forum), have a huge clean up (because you are not going to want to stop cooking once the TMX arrives) and try to be patient until the big day arrives.
-
It is coming tomorrow night :) :) :) :) :)
-
That's very exciting. You are going to have a great time this weekend - hope you have lots of recipes put aside to try!
-
Welcome Crompo. I have a lovely second cousin in Macloed.
-
I'm very close to you Chrissa, well I used to be. I'm from Craigieburn, but now I live in Docklands.
