Since I've paid for my place at the Retreat in WA and now can't go, I thought I'd offer it up for half price. So, if anyone would like to go, but perhaps couldn't afford it, here's your opportunity to go along for only $125!
PM me if you're at all interested! You'll be helping me recoup some of the cost too.
-
I thought I would bump this for MJ. It sure is a good deal if someone can make it. Great housemates too.
-
Great housemates I hear ;D
-
Absolutely ;D
-
I believe so, very nice, cheerful girls.
Anyone here in WA that might be able to make it?? Maybe just for Friday and Saturday and leave late Saturday or early Sunday?
-
Bump again.
-
Anyone? Please? I really can't afford to lose all this money.
-
lets hope you don't and someone steps forward
-
Just a thought, why don't you email Tenina and see if she knows anyone ? I just told my husband that I think I should go (which would mean leaving him with our 3 kids lol) but naaaa toooooo far away. We're booked to go on a cruise to NZ in October on Princess Cruises this time ..... can't wait !!
-
My TMX friend is in FNQ at the moment and the others are coming, aren't you VJH, Jan and Jan (alias Barbie)?
-
I'll give Tenina a try. Thanks!
-
Perhaps Mandy might like to come, she is lovely.

Are any of our new members out there interested in coming along for a fun weekend?

with this group of people we will never be bored talking about your Thermomix or cooking
there is a fun bus ride with all these crazy weirdly dressed people
you get to sleep in a real bed in a real house with an unreal ocean view

At least their recipes live on.

At least their recipes live on.
Yes that is true and Brazen had so many gluten free ones which are very helpful. She did all the hard work converting them, posting them and we still, can benefit from them.
Looking back on early posts from when the forum started is great fun and very useful.

HEY WEST AUSSIES . Come and join us this weekend. We are a lovely group of people and you won't regret it.
We should have sent Thermomixer a personal invitation for him and Mrs T. Bit late now.

Maybe Grace M would be interested? ;)
-
I wish I could go, it sounds like its going to be a fantastic weekend. Very jealous right now...
-
Deonie the retreat has been organised for some time now. It is for a 3 day weekend. BUT there will be no thermomixes there and it is more a get together and chat than cooking demonstrations or such.
-
Hi there, I have emailed you but your email may reject it as it is from my work email address. Can you give me the details about dates, accommodation and what I would bring etc? My phone number is ????????it might be easier to ring me? Or I am ???????????? if you prefer. Many thanks, Emma
If anyone wants to 'speak' with Emma please send her a pm. I have taken her personal info off. :-* :-* :-*
-
Mmsie is it Meganjane you have emailed?
-
I've emailed you!
I really don't know all the details as the thread about the retreat is pages and pages long and full of chit chat! Please pm CP63.
-
MJ I think I emailed you direct, you need to look through your emails
-
Maybe Grace M would be interested? ;)
Oh you can be sure she is very interested in our "retreat". No doubt she will be there just not in her own skin. Wouldn't it be lovely If HO provided a goody for our bags as a thank you to all of us loyal customers who promote our Themothingys so successfully on this popular Forum. They must get lots of sales from this site. Be a nice jester or is that gester? ;D ;D ;D

Mmsie......it might be a good idea to remove those details from a public forum.....leaves you wide open for spammers.
Use the PM button under the users name you wish to contact ;)

Debbie why do you think HO has it in for this forum? To me it is all about the machine. We promote it. We conjure up recipes. We convert. recipes. We gladly share everything.
After all their official forum is not a forum at all and the web site is not user friendly apart from being boring as. The information there is not always current or accurate.
We have over 7500 members here with the vast majority being Thermothingy owners . We encourage consultants to come here and share their expertise in an open an honest way while HO Au discourages them from being here and thus preventing them from using this most comprehensive resource. Also the consultants could give us accurate info on promotions and the like. Why ever not?
If HO Au has a beef why don't they come here and sort it out. Tell us what we are doing wrong so we can fix it. Seems simple to me that being friendly and cooperative would be in the best interest of the customers.
And since this is NOT an Australian forum but an international one why do we not hear of other Thermothingy countries banning their consultants from using this forum. Seems we fit nicely with other English speaking " official" web sites.
And are we not lucky to have Tenina, a former recipe developer for Vorwerk , here to help us so generously? Lucky for us she decided to go off on her own and away from HO Au because no doubt she would not have allowed to be a presence here.
We are in the fortunate position of being able to openly support those who support us by buying Tenins's cookbooks and Helene's spatulas and now her wee scrubbies .
Maybe HO Au should delegate one of their staff to openly monitor this forum so they could right any wrong info and provide the latest info. Would not that be better than using spys to troll these pages and report any perceived criticisms?
For goodness sake we are all adults including Amy. :-)) Well at least these forum members are.
A soonfull of honey.

Honestly, I think they are just very envious of this forum. I cannot understand either why a business wouldn't use every tool available to them to support and promote their business. If this forum is where there customers are then this is where they should also be in a positive way ! I for one despise their controlling mentality demonstrated when they banned their consultants from coming here and following Tenina on facebook etc etc. I also struggle to understand why it is that they support such recipe books as In The Mix and yet completely shun Tenina's books. Why ? Tenina is as you say a wonderful generous spirit and I again can't understand why they wouldn't want to support what she's doing when after all she is supporting their product. What I also find difficult to understand is that they didn't invent this wonderful machine ........... they are just the Australian Distributors for it !!
There's an old saying Gert "You attract more flies with honey"and this rings very true in this case ! It will cost them business in the end I think and then they might realise ! Eventually consultants will not tolerate that kind of carry on !

I can't read. I read Gert's statement as three forum members and it says these forum members.
That is what happens when you flick the forum on on the iPad as you go by, instead of sitting down and checking it.

There is so much more than meets the eye in the world of Thermomix :-X I WISH I could attend the retreat because it would be a balm on my soul to talk openly :o about Thermomix politics with a bunch of
rabid passionate fans. But since I can't be there, I am counting on some play-by-play reportage from someone or some-two or three of you! Please remember to throw a few virtual crumbs to those of us who had to stay home :'(
Yup, this forum is the best because of 'relative freedom' of speech and the HOURS of hard work by people like JudyDawn, Gert, CP Cookie, and all the rest -- not the least of them is/was Jeff who disappeared so quickly, silently and suspiciously. I try to stay out of the politics of it all though, as my presence and the existence of my blog is for the sole purpose of celebrating the machine. I LOVE the machine and think more people should be able to enjoy owning. Thankfully, I can't see anything (even nasty politics and antiquated policies) that will stand in the way of that appreciation.
I will face in your direction and raise a glass for you all while you are on retreat. Maybe I'll shed a tear too. Probably I'll eat some Tenina lemon curd from the jar with a finger while reading through old forum threads for solace. :'( :-*

A spoon would probably make less mess TB ;)

Sounds like a pity party. Ok I will and you some snippets with the others

I've always wondered what happened to thermomixer, he contributed so much and then just stopped. He wasn't a consultant so I don't understand why politics or HO would make him stop. ???
-
Yes, I wondered the same thing. Why would he suddenly stop his contributions?
-
I'm so glad you sorted that out for us Cookie, I got lost there and couldn't work out what was going on - not like me to miss something but I thought I had :D
-
Perhaps it's time for new glasses.
Thermomixer is still on Twitter. I'm not sure about his blog. I think he has moved onto bigger things. He certainly did an excellent job on here. I think Judy is as good though.
-
JD is the best!
-
Nobody will ever top Judy's effort and enthusiasm :D
-
Yea he did a good job but he had only hundreds of members to deal with where as cookie and JD have thousands and the hundreds of postings each day. They do a far more comprehensive job .
Brazen is still around as well though she does not post much any more. She was one of the starters on the forum and did a wonderful job.
Gert
-
I think those moderators that went before us did a wonderful job and that Cookie & I are just trying to do the same. Yes, the forum is growing all the time but there are so many members who enthusiastically welcome new members, willingly give answers to problems or questions, provide links when required that I feel as if we are a team, all with a great fondness for this forum, our TMX's and our fellow members. You are all stars in my eyes.
-
:) :) :) :) - but you and Cookie set the standards, we all just follow along.
-
Thanks to cookie, Judy Dawn, and yes Brazen and thermomixer too.
Totally agree Helene, they do a great job. :) :)
-
Would like to wish eveyone going a safe journey, and a wonderful time.
Will also raise a glass and think of you all having the time of your lives.
Take care
Marie

Thanks Marie. Next year will you come?
-
We will do our best to share with all members this wonderful experience. I must say that it is a bit daunting meeting so many people who I feel I already know. My DH is a very brave person, and I am most grateful that he has come with me , as I don't think I could come by myself. I am a VERY bad traveller.
If it weren't for Judy and Thermixer saving me from floating around in cyber space I wouldn't be a member of the Forum and therefore would not have had so much fun. Thankyou both. I think it is important to remember that situations change in people's lives and they make decisions which others may not understand, but we have to respect these decisions. I miss Thermixer, but thank God we still have Judy.
I would encourage anyone who can find the the time, to pick up this available place.
-
Here here. There is still time to tell DH you will be away for the weekend.
-
Mmsie is taking my place now. I've put up another thread as this one has digressed somewhat - no...surely not, we all stay on topic, don't we people? ;D
-
Lol MJ, of cause, who goes off subject? :D
-
What ? What are we talking about now??. ;D
-
MJ,
I am sorry that you are unable to come, but im glad that you have found someone to take your place.
Mmsie, welcome to the retreat - we will be in the same house. I'm very excited as this time tomorrow I will be boarding a plane to WA ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
