Title: Help with cake release
Post by: Deniser on August 11, 2012, 07:38:58 am
I just made the Magic Bean cake (for the second time) first time it just fell out of the tin - this time it didn't.  Thank goodness I had a trial run as I want to take it for a dinner next week.  This one is going to be turned into rum balls (to take also - so not wasted).  Where did I go wrong this time - any suggestions for non stick  ideas for next time would be helpful.  I used a Bundt tin and sprayed with cooking oil (which is what I thought I did last time).

Hi Denisir, sometimes I line my tins with baking paper, but for silicon cake pans, I use spay oil.

The cake release is great too.

Oh thank you ladies. Will try the cake release - thank you for the link. Plan to cover the cake with chocolate ganache so does not have to be perfect but would like it to come out basically in one piece.
