Hi Everyone,
I have had my Thermie since Christmas last year and have just decided to use the forum, though have trolled a few times to find recipes. I was very lucky to have Thermie given to me as a Christmas present. I live in the Pilbara region of WA, and thoroughly enjoy living here. I don't use my Thermie perhaps as much as I should, because I live on my own and often don't eat at home and I am often eating as I am heading out the door to do the next thing on my ever growing list of jobs to get done. I am trying now to get into the habit of using him to help me to eat healthier, and to save money on take-out.
There is not a lot more I can really tell you about myself. BUT I am looking forward to learning some new recipes and having a much larger recipe base to use for my weekly meals.

Hello and welcome,What a lovely Christmas present, there lots of great recipes around here and I honestly don't think I would of used my tmx as much without this forum, it's great :)

Hi Span, welcome to the forum. It would be hard to get motivated to cook much if you live alone but this forum often provides the inspiration to do just that. Let's hope it works for you so that you can really get the benefit from your purchase.
-
Welcome to the forum Span. There is plenty of help here to get you cooking more in your TM ;)
-
Welcome to the forum Span, I think I would find it difficult to get in to a routine of cooking for myself if I was the only one. Even now most of the cooking I do is for the other members of the family for school and work (except evening meal)
There are some amazing recipes on here though, and lots that can be frozen into portions.
-
Hi Span - and welcome to the forum! I'm sure you'll find all the help and advice you'll ever need on here. The more you use your TMX the more comfortable you'll become adjusting this recipe and that one - and the quantities - to suit your own needs. Good luck!! :D
-
Welcome to the forum Span, I'm sure you will find a few dishes on here that will spark your interest and tempt your tastebuds ;D ;D
I look forward to hearing about your Thermie adventures ;)

Welcome to the forum Span :)

Welcome Span. When I saw 'red centre' I thought around Alice Springs but then the Pilbara is definitely as red. In face it is a beautiful colour red. Are the Sturt Peas out yet around where you live?
Hopefully we can help you with cooking for one ideas.
-
You're right there Cookie, I am not really in the centre, but just on the edge of the Western Desert, I'm not a coastal Pilbarite :)
Thanks for the warm welcome. Joining the forum has paid off, I cooked two meals in Thermie today, so my freezer is nice and full of lunches for work for next week.

Welcome to the forum Span. Someone very nice must have really loved you to give you a Thermomix for Christmas.
Why don't you pop over to the Why did you choose your forum name thread (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=7397.0) and tell us all how you choose Span as your forum name.

Welcome Span. You are certainly very lucky to have been given this gift. If you are pressed for time you can whizz yourself up a healthy smoothie to drink on the run. Freezing meal size portions is the way to go also, and will save you time running to the takeaway shops. The more you cook with it, the more you will appreciate how good your food will actually taste (and you will never want to eat out again).
Why not pop over and enter in the poll (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=395.msg89754;topicseen#msg89754) so we can keep track of where our members are from.
We have lots of delicious recipes here that our members have kindly posted - and here is my current list of favourites (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0) – (to be updated soon) we also look forward to hearing from you if you have any queries, comments or converted recipes of your own to offer.

Whereabouts in the Pilbara are you Span? Obviously far inland. I hope to be heading up to the Murchison inland for a camping trip in early September. Hopefully there will be a few wildflowers.

Hello and welcome Span :)

Welcome to the forum Span, hopefully you will be using your thermomix a lot more now that you have joined the forum.

Hi Span, I too cook for one most of the time, I love the TMX although mines a girl, all female household here, I'm just returning from a trip to Longreach, I love the red dirt I don't even mind it in the caravan. Although I don't know if I could handle the heat that you would get. Enjoy....
-
Hi Span, welcome to the forum. Have fun with your TMX :)
-
Ausie Brenda how was Longreach? It is one place we haven't been yet. DH hopes we'll get there next year.
-
Hello and welcome.

Sorry Cookie, just caught up with this thread, I loved the Stockmans Hall of Fame, went to the one man horse show too I spent the whole day there, my friends weren't into it so much and went home at lunchtime. ( can now cross that off the to do list. ) Have you been to Agnes Waters near 1770 camped at the Workmans Beach, I really enjoyed that.
-
Yes we did call there. I couldn't get over the names, especially 1770. When we were there two little boys from France had their sand cubby cave in on them.
