Title: A dairy free choc peanuty slice like a queen of slices, doable? How????
Post by: ~[fruity]~ on August 09, 2012, 04:00:46 am
I've got a real hankering for a peanuty chocolatey slice similar to a queen of slices slice. But.... It has to be dairy free as miss 16months is Ana to all dairy. How would you accept this challenge?

I can't help sorry. My DH has a nut allergy, so we don't use peanuts at all and I don't know anything about dairy free cooking.

I don't know what a Queen of slices is fruity but is this (http://healthyblenderrecipes.com/recipes/celiac_chicks_gluten_free_dairy_free_peanut_butter_love_bars/) similar and could you use an egg replacement to make it suitable for DD?

ohhhh that looks good, and she can tolerate eggs, it is just dairy (Cows milk protein) and soy. I will find a link for Queen of slices.

Fruity could you use a nut butter for the butter in recipes? That may make cooking a lot easier for you.

Or even substitute the butter with pureed/stewed apple. I think some people do that to reduce the fat in recipes.

Do you use nuttulex?  I would replace with that or a combination of applesauce and coconut or olive oil.
