Title: How do I cook mince?
Post by: pippa on August 04, 2012, 06:47:30 am
Whenever I cook mince (chicken, beef or lamb), it sticks to the bottom of the TMX.  What temp, speed do others use.?

pippa, do you have cooked onion/garlic/oil in the TM bowl before you add your mince (most recipes do).  I generally cook mince on  1000/reverse/speed 1 but I have used varoma temperature at times and have never had a problem with it sticking.  I would preheat the bowl with the oil for a minute or 2 before adding the mince if that is the first thing you are putting into the bowl.

Thanks Judy - perhaps that is why it works sometimes and not others.  I haven't been diligent enough to actually record when it does and doesn't work, but that makes sense to me.  I will try preheating and will take note if it works better when adding after onion/garlic.

Thanks so much judydawn - that was the problem.  No sticking if I preheat the bowl!
