Morning All
My Thermi has decided it doesn't want to chop. I can heat water in it etc but we couldn't chop our apple/almonds/dates for breakfast. I tried the ice cubes (I heard that sharpens the blades) but the blades wouldn't even turn.
When Thermi is empty the blades will turn (both ways) but as soon as I put anything in it, they won't turn. I tried Almond Milk and the blades turned but didn't chop.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

That sounds like a bit of a concern. I think you might have to ring your consultant. At first I was going to ask if you have your TM on reverse speed until you said the blades are not moving.
Try a call to your consultant and see what they have to say. Hope it's not to serious.

Hi Jenny
this happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Thermi needed a new set of blades as the friction fit between the blades and the drive shaft had worn. All is working beautifully now after replacing them. Go onto the Thermomix Aus web site for the price.
cheers

Jenny, is your TMX still under warranty? Either ring your consultant or ring HO first thing on Monday morning for a replacement set of blades.

My Thermi is just over three years old so definitely out of warranty - would also lead me to believe the blades are worn.

How awful. I live in fear of this happening to me.

You have your spare set of blades though Cookie so if they are 'stripped' you have an instant replacement on hand ;)

i had the same thing happen...the blades came off the spindle thing...if yu take your blades out and the black thing that locks them in is loose you will need new blades....apparantly chopping hard stuff that is too big can lead to this gradually happening..my TM is also coming up to 4 yrs old

You are right Judy. I think when I travel with the TMX I might pack the extra blades too.
