Firstly welcome to the forum. Secondly what kind of food allergies do you have? Maybe you should have the consultant use your own TM (when you get one) to do the demo with so you know that nothing has been in the bowl that will affect you. But saying that if the bowl and blade is cleaned well then there shouldn't be any issues there.
My biggest recommendation for you is to never never put your TM in a cupboard, always have it sitting on the bench where it's easy to use all the time.
I have had my TM for 18 months and use it so much still. I totally love it.
And when you have food allergies at least you know what's in the foods you prepare yourself with the help of a TM. :)

Hello BFG, welcome to the forum.  It's a good move joining here and having a look around before actually buying a TMX.  Not that you will read anything on here to dissuade you from buying, quite the contrary - you will see we are all very much in favour of having one.  For allergies it is an essential item to have in your kitchen as it will make your life so much easie making everything from scratch and knowing exactly what is in your food.  Good luck with your decision.

thanks all for the welcomes!!
Anaphylaxis is the type of allergy i have to these foods:  nuts... ground and tree, onions, soy, apricots, UHT milk, poweraide...
and intolerant to normal cows milk, can drink some A2 milk though.
I can wheeze with other foods, and notice i get agitated with preservatives and colours (even some natural colours)
My kids have issues so i also try to keep them preservative free or at least low.
I also am a T1 diabetic, so watch carbs... ( ;)lately i have kept a close eye on them... as they go in my mouth... sigh)

Wow. A tmx will definitely be a helper. Can make a lot of stuff from scratch like the ladies above said.

I am going blank right now. But maybe a homemade a2 cheese and yoghurt?? Uuuuh, drawing a blank here. Too late at night. I'll recharge. Hopefully tmrw i'll have more ideas for you bfg :)

Wow BFG you have some nasty allergies. I can understand your concern. I can only imagine that a TM will be a huge help for you and your family. Anaphylactic reactions can be so scary. I'm just glad that my family don't suffer from major reactions to any type of foods. I read so many labels of food that read 'May contain traces of nuts'. You would have to be so so carful.

Hi BFG, I am a very new thermomix owner and my son has a nut allergy.  Personally I would find it a risk to eat out of someone else's tmx.  I'm having another demo soon and I won't have anything with nuts made in my machine even though ds won't be there.  Only the littlest bit needs to be left behind for life threatening consequences! Maybe you could have a demo and have everyone else taste it or if you decide to purchase have a delivery demo with your tmx?

I've only had mine a week and I love it!!  It is so quick and easy to make stuff.  The other night I had the tmx making yoghurt and my kitchen aid mixing a lemon loaf.  It really made me see how much mess i make with the kitchen aid with all the measuring and weighing which needed to be washed up where as the tmx you weigh in the bowl.  It makes a big difference when you bake a lot!

I am using mine a few times everyday and even my husband who thought I was wasting my money is impressed!

Hello and welcome

I also ummed and arghed for 12mths before finally getting my tm last week and I have made some most delicious things and all so simple and quick, I'm sure with your allergies owning one could only be a positive

I  had my machine delivered and had the one hour where my consultant showed me the basics and then a week later I had my demo

Good luck with your decision

xx

Welcome to the forum butterfly girl. I'm sure you will find owning a thermomix really good as you will know exactly goes into everything you make. We've all found that making things from scratch (often even grinding our own flour) has been bebeficial to our health.
Anaphalxis reactions are not to be played with.  If you do decide to buy, remember that any queries you have will be answered on this forum any time of the day or night. There is always someone awake somewhere in the world.

Welcome to the forum.  So many members here have allergies and there is always an answer somewhere.  Another excellent resource is quirky jo's blog.  She uses some nuts but has a lot of alternative ideas and the longer your browse this forum and QJ's blog the more help, advice, ideas and answers you will get.
