Title: How do you clean your TMX with gumption?
Post by: Tasty on July 06, 2012, 03:41:08 am
My thermomix needs a good clean and I've tried the normal method ...was it with lemon or vinegar...I can't remember but the one in the EDC book.

Anyway, I remember some of you mentioned cleaning it with gumption so I wanted to know how you do it as I don't want to ruin thermie. Do you just use a non-scratch scourer sponge? Also do you clean the blades with it? I'm finding I'm getting a buildup on the blades and also the top part of the jug/bowl. How often do you use gumption as well?

Also with the selfclean  - do you just use water or dishwashing liquid?

Sorry Tasty I don't use gumption. I usually sprinkle base with bicarb and then add vinegar. Let it foam then scrub away with a little brush, like a tootbrush.

I used Gumption with a soft damp dish cloth.  Gumption by its nature isn't very abrasive and if you just buff it, it shouldn't do any damage - well it didn't to mine anyway!

Thanks Brumington - I'll give it a go tonight, I hope.

Thanks also DG.
