Title: Garlic paste
Post by: natalia on June 30, 2012, 11:49:51 pm
Hi, I was just wondering how long the garlic paste can last in the fridge before you need to throw it out, thanks

At the rate it gets used (in everything) I doubt it would go off before the batch was all gone natalia but if you think you might take longer to use it, freeze it in teaspoon lots on baking paper then place the little knobs into a ziplock bag for use as and when required.

What a great idea JD.  You never cease to amaze me.

Try using it on pizza with, rosemary sea salt & olive oil. We had this last night. Yum

Thanks, these are great ideas, I think I will use the paste before it goes off, but I was just wanting a guesstimate of how long it lasts so I can gauge how much I make or how quickly it should be used, thanks. Natalia

Natalia I freeze all things like that when I first make them until I work out how long it will take me to use them up. I do the same with umami past, curry pastes etc. I have a running list on my freezer of all the little goodies I have stored in there in clumps/lumps/ice blocks in click seal bags  :D :D

saves you worrying about them and you feel free to make up what ever you like and not worry about waste. I don't thaw any of them if they are going into a cooked meal, jus throw the lump in as it takes no time to defrost in the cooking process.  ;)
