Post by: Halex on June 27, 2012, 05:25:51 am

I think I just give it 20 sec at a time, stir then another 20 sec stir then 10 sec. You can usually tell when it's almost done.

The best way to melt chocolate is in the mouth with your eyes closed while making "mmmmmm" noises ;) ;)

Wow uni, thats looks great. Have done another layer, its on ice in the freezer.
Made this for the olds, so back up plan, can take a slice in for each teacher. The olds were happy with a slice each.

I always melt in the microwave, at 50% power only.
Start at 30 secs, stir then keep heating at 5-10 second intervals & stir until it's melted.

Hally the slice looks great.  As to the choc problem,  if choc gets any moisture in while melting the result will be that grainy product that you experienced (same occurs if you dip a wet spoon into a bowl of sugar!!)  We direct students to the Elements of Chocolate (http://acselementsofchocolate.typepad.com/elements_of_chocolate/Chocolate.html) site to discover the ups and downs of cooking with chocolate!  :)  :)
