Title: Recommendations for health, wholefood supplier - online or shop
Post by: Tasty on June 19, 2012, 02:53:08 am
I have had a bad experience with an online health/whole food retailer I have been using and I would love any recommendations for good value shops or online retailers that sell products like seeds, nuts, spices, etc.

Today I went to make some Bible bread and opened up my plastic flour container that I used to store sesame seeds in and a moth flew out and I later saw the cocoon at the top. The other day we had a friend over and were eating some goji berries and noticed a small worm thing crawling in them.....ewwwwwwwwww and on top of that I decided to finally open a packet on walnuts in their shell and the packet was full of cocoon things.

Could I be the plastic they are stored in?? or is it the hygiene standards of the shop??

So as a result of all this I am looking for a retailer that has good hygiene standards but is also good value - preferably north of the river just out of the inner city suburbs.

JD - I'd say all of it is from March/April. That's not too long is it??

Will be letting the supplier know today.

where ever you buy it from its good if the shop has a high turnover of stock

l look in the bulk  containers and  scoop a bit to see if l can see any webs  if l buy it from a shop

or you could buy it from ww or coles heathfood section there prepack nuts and seeds
l have never had weevils from coles or ww   that is where l buy my chia seed from as l was sick and tired of getting weevils in there from health food shop  and  when you pay $35 kg  l dont like there to be  weevils in there
