A very grown up, decadent dessert!
You firstly taste the nuts in the crust, then the hint of lemon comes through....then you taste the decadent chocolate flavour with a hint of creamy coconut....was bliss!!

Well done Maddy! Looks awesome! I have this recipe ear-marked to make at some point. However I know I can't pipe cream with that consistancy! I'll get a couple of good ones and then loose patience with it.........

Great review Maddy and your decorating really finishes the dessert off beautifully. Tenina will be jealous of that photo ;D

Absolutely beautiful Maddy. :D

Here's a tip ;). I used the soft whipped cream to cover, then whipped the rest of the cream for a little longer, so it was more stable for piping. Simply used a Wilton 2D tip, and sqeezed out the stars....easy.
I wouldn't describe the pie as o.t.t. sweet, but lovely and rich...IYKWIM ;)

Great tip Maddy
It looks beautiful :)

This is a real winner. Quick to make (I put it together after dinner then quickly piped on cream rosettes before work the next morning). Everyone loved it at work - will definitely make again!
-
Maddy that looks stunning!

This looks amazing! I've been waiting for AGES now for tenina to get FFS back in stock but as soon as she does this is going to be one of the first recipes i cook

OMG that is beautiful.

I just found the recipe and will make it on Friday. My DD asked me to make a cheesecake as she is having friends for a barbecue Friday .
Will make this instead on condition that she saves me a slice!!! :D It looks awesome.

Again Maddy, your skilled piping work has created another masterpiece. Your creations look too good to eat.

Made this again as one of my Christmas desserts.
Actually had leftovers and the comments I received were nice but rich and not enough sweetness. :(
I like it but yes possibly needs a little more sweetness.
Have made it twice before and will make it again.
DS ate my pistachios that I had in a bowl for decorating!!!

This looks amazing! Another great reason to get the book!

My GD tried this last night and agreed with me that it needed something to add sweetness.
She said they make something very similar at the restaurant and stir through some chopped raspberries into the chocolate mix to cut through the dark chocolate taste. They then add shaved milk chocolate on top of the whipped cream to give a touch of sweetness. And of course a drizzle of raspberry coulis on the plate ;D LOL
-
I think this a recipe you will love if you're a fan of dark chocolate -it's rich and not too sweet. Adding a berry coulis or some fresh fruit on top might work for those who want a sweeter finish. I liked it because I find a lot of desserts too sweet and this was just right

I don't have FFS, so can't make this, but just had to leave a comment on your beautiful decorating skills Maddy, you are not just
the shopping Queen extrordinaire, but you have such a flair for decorating, both food wise and in your home.
I have seen quiet a few pics of your dishes and they all look so amazing, love your work :)

This pie is divine!!!
I made it early afternoon to take to a family dinner where everyone had contributed. It did get lost amongst all of the other typically very sweet desserts on offer.
However because there was so much of the pie left I was able to take it home and OMG it got better with age. Would recommend this as a stand alone course and make it the day before.
5/5 for sure!!!

Thanks again for the review. I haven't made this but my DH tells me he doesn't like coconut. However he eats it when I use coconut milk. ??? ???
