Title: What is granulated sugar?

I'm hoping to get around to making the lemon pudding surprise cake today and just wanted to know what is granulated sugar? What do we call it here?

I think I found it on google. It's caster sugar. Is that right?

I thought granulated sugar is just another name for white sugar.

It's just ordinary sugar that is in granules as opposed to block sugar (for example cut into cubes.)

From what I understand granulated sugar is just a bit coarser than castor sugar.

I just use whatever sugar I have lots of :-)) ;D
