Title: what can I 'convert' this to?
Post by: mavvie on May 29, 2012, 12:56:52 pm
I thought I would try making a zucchini slice tonight for dinner.. All went well except halfway into the cooking I realized I forgot the flour  :-\

Looks like zucchini 'quiche' am wondering if any creative cooks out there could suggest how I can salvage it and convert it to another dish? Such a shame to throw it out  :-[

If it looks like a quiche then I would serve it up as a quiche mavvie - no-one will know that it is supposed to be anything different  ;)
I'm presuming it set and you are able to cut it - would love to see a photo of it so that I can see exactly what it is you have ended up with.

I agree with Judy.  You could add some cheese to the top. You could call it a slice.

J my partner salvaged my    'quiche' and I think he did a great job.
He bought vol au vents and put some roast chicken and more goats cheese over the too served with salad :)

Mavvie, great idea from DP.  As soon as I saw your 'disaster' I knew what I would have done with it - covered  it with tomato slices & grated cheese & popped it under the grill to melt the cheese.  Nice to see nothing was wasted. Thanks for the photos.

That looks great.  Are you sure you didn't intend that all along ????   :D :D :D :D

Now you get another try at the zucchini slice.  It's delicious.

Lol merilyn. I wish that easter case. Unfortunately I am one of those that don't read instructions properly and like to estimate amounts of ingredients  ;D

But I would try it again. I think it'll be a good weeknight dinner time saver!
