Unbelievable what they have for iPads.
Have you seen the scales that can connect to your iPad so you can keep track of your weight.
Or blood pressure cuff thingy to keep track of your blood pressure.
Who knows what else there will be in a years time. Can't keep up with all this technology. :)

Bet they are expensive Maddy.

$189.00 is the cheapest I've found so far...I will wait though, there's bound to be cheaper versions soon.

They look good Maddie but do you really want to print Much? I try and store everything in Evernote. Now so there's no need to print out.

When I first saw that Maddy, I thought it was printing out the photo off the iPad.  Thought, wow, printers are getting so small these days.  ;D

It doesn't print, just scans to the iPad, and I can print off from my wireless printer if I want to.
My other computer needs serious updating, so it takes forever to "warm up" before I use it.  I only use that one for our invoicing, so copying magazine recipes to iPad means I can turf the growing collection of mags.

If you want to scan things to your iPad or iPhone there is an app (of course!) called jotnot pro which uses the camera as a scanner. I expect there are other apps which do the same job. Worth a go!

That app sounds good.

That makes sense. Julie, I also thought it was printing from the iPad

Of course there would be an app  ;)
For me, I don't think the iPad camera is that clear...and prefer to use my camera instead.

Thanks to this thread I just downloaded "HP Printer Control" for free (I have a HP wireless printer)
I can now scan on my printer/scanner/copier straight to the iPad. Was great as I had to email scanned copies of tax papers to my brother. And as I don't use my laptop for email at all it was great and so easy.
Thanks Maddy for starting this thread, I wouldn't of thought about it before otherwise.
I'm sure there is other apps for other scanner/printer models as well :D

Re iPad camera. It is only low res and besides if you have an original iPad, like me, there of course is no camera. personally I think the camera on an iPad is a gimmick as an ipad is too cumbersome to carry around specifically as a camera. I think it's main use would be if say you were in a meeting and had to take a photo of a document or whiteboard etc. The  scanner looks really good though. I am thinking of getting one so I can scan the kids voluminous amount of artwork and then either recycle the originals as wrapping paper or put them in the recycling bin on rubbish day. I have kept the ones the kids and I really like and been scrupulous with the rest . Otherwise I will end up with boxes and boxes of artwork that probably will never see the light of day again. I already have a couple of huge plastic containers filled with stuff we are keeping for the moment.

A digital camera that can transfer photos straight to the iPad via iCloud would be good. :)

Well I agree and not. I am no photographer but I love the camera on my iPad and I think for my purpose it is not so bad and is very handy as the iPad  is all but attached to my body. I don't have an iPhone but it would probably be the same. Handy and useful.  The screen shots it takes are great and my mini movies are good to share so easily.  All my food pics are taken with my iPad. Although not as good as most others here it does the job well enough and is so EASY to put on the forum by way of Tapatalk. I do not find it cumbersome at all as it is quickly available, always reliable and does not tell lies. What you see is what you get with no Photo shopping as I don't know how to use that bit and have no interest. The iPad is much quicker than downloadin a camera shot to,the  computer then up loading to the posting. So no I don't think the camea on the iPad is a gimmick. I use it every day. My camera has been in the drawer for the past year.

I have the first iPad with no camera, am thinking of upgrading in the near future so it's interesting to read others comments on the newer iPad.

How old are your kids Merlin? My eldest has just started Kinder this year, and already after a term and a half I have mountains of artwork :o I like your idea of making wrapping paper though. We get a portfolio at the end of the year, so I'm thinking the best pieces will probably be in there. I feel too guilty to throw anything out at this stage though! :-\

Bubbles take a wall and make a collage. Keep layering every year. By the time they are 12 the walls are yellow torn and moving in on them. At 12 they can strip  and paint. Job done.

Lol Gert.
We moved house last year. Twice.
Had the most enormous downsize and chucking out of ancient pictures, cards, handicrafts.
Kept the very best handful.
In the big farmhouse they'd been lots of room. Now in very small farmhouse.
Kids 24& 25. Step kids 20, 23, 25.
Sold pram on eBay.
Kept cot in attic for next generation and the very best children's books and a few  toys.

Gave a lot away to charity and did eBay. About to start eBay again with yet more surplus stuff.
New rule in this house - no room or don't need OUT it goes.

Like Gert,  I love my Camera on my iPad.  All the food photos on my Blog are now taken with this.  They are not perfect ,  but so easy when you want a quick record .  When we go to the WA Retreat,  I am going to ask Gert if she will show me how to use Tapatalk.  !!!!!!

Oh my goodness I am not so sure about Tapatalk either. Maybe I fluked it  just typped in the forum name and it sorted itself out. We can all have a go together. I will bring my zagg folio too if remember and have room so ppl can try the iPad with a keyboard . Very handy for document typing.

Tapatalk is by far the easiest I have found for just  putting photos from  your iPad onto the forum. Maybe somebody knows another.

If the houses do not have free wifi you will need to get a data  card  for your iPad to use Tapatalk. I don't have an iPhone , which is really sad for me, but I know you can tether your iPad to,it and use that  for your data.

Gert.
