Long time no post, but I NEEDED to come and post about this one!

My best friends hen's day was yesterday, and I decided to FINALLY try this icing. I've made the roux a few times and not got around to completing the icing  :-)) I'm never much of a fan of buttercream icing the next day, that slight crust that destroys the softness.

This icing doesn't do that though! There were literally moans of pleasure at the cupcakes on the day lol! I made the raspberry version Maddy posted. Vanilla and Chocolate Mud mini GF cupcakes, with a raspberry frosting (used white wings GF flour). All tasted amazing, everyone was shocked a) to hear they are GF b) that they were made by the Bridesmaid and not the club we went to for lunch lol! Score ;)

So thank you guys! This is my go to recipe from now on!

Delicious, as always, I added the Glutino 'Oreos', that are gluten free for a friendly version for me and my celiac Mum :)

I was thinking, if you cooked the first mix just a bit longer, and left out the cho and mix ins, you would have delicious caramels, yes?

Any further review on the hit mix pro? I'm thinking my new kitchen could use a new appliance ;)

So you just 'flick a switch', and it changes the way it cooks? lol

I'm trying to decide whether to put 2 normal oven sin my kitchen, or a 900ml oven; and a convection oven in my butlers pantry...

Can someone please explain them to me?  ??? They aren't regular microwave ovens, right?

I've been buying this one for years. Has always been delightful.

Was devastated when it went out of stock for a month, and very excited to see it back at Christmas, all be it in a new packet.

Was not so impressed when I tried it, it certainly lacks the intense chocolate flavour now, and my chocolate goodies are no where near as nice now!

Non Food Recipes / Re: Gluten Free PlayDoh

I used to think th same judy, why would you need it gluten free, they don't eat it!

But now, with a 16mo with a wheat allergy, there is no way I'd let her near regular play doh, she may eat it, it may be left on her hands afterwards, might be dropped.

Now I get it lol.

I'm so happy with this recipe, I've blogged it here:

http://crunchworthy.blogspot.com.au/
But thought the lovely Forum could do with the addition too :)

Gluten Free PlayDoh:

500grams Bicarb Soda
 200grams Cornflour
 380grams Water
 30grams Oil
 1 tsp Cream of Tarter
 Coloring of choice
 Scent of choice

Add all ingredients, except cream of tarter.
Set 8 minutes, speed 3, 80 degrees.
Once it's stirring, add in the Tarter.

Let it do it's thing. When it's finished, check consistency, add more oil or cornflour, remembering it will dry out as it cools.

Knead for 3 minutes.

Tip out, let cool, and get crafting!

Shazzy,

Does the microwave/oven just require power?

Certainly lots to think about! I don't have enough space to have then on top of one another, but I have a space in my walk in pantry room for my current microwave, and I'm wondering if the microwave/oven set up might be able to slide in there!

It seems you guys are going to save me a world of pain and regret!

Looks like I need to revisit the freestanding idea. I was liking the idea of a larger oven to do things like bake a batch of cookies in one go.
