What are you cooking today?
« Reply #35745 on: July 07, 2021, 08:49:05 am »
Nothing here today, however we have cake. The little girl down the road turned 6 yesterday and had her party today. She insisted that DH have some of her cake. So sweet of her.

Cookie, that was a nice thought by the little girl.

Yesterday I made some beef and veggie sausage rolls in the oven and then used up the leftover cottage pie and made sausage rolls in the SRM.

Cookie, that was a lovely thought.  Did you have a small piece?

Don’t tell anyone Chookie, but I had 2 pieces. It was very light and tasty.
No cooking here today.

Made 2 batches of Lemon and carrot marmalade in the TMX.  While it was cooking, made 6 jars of lemons preserved in salt. The bucket of lemons nearly all used. I noticed that lemons were $1 each in the Supermarket.

Found a lovely big fresh swede in the market so made a big pot of Scotch Broth, probably do a macaroni and cheese as well, and maybe something else, but not sure yet what that 'something else' may be!

Yesterday I made 6 beef, onion and mushroom pies in the PM.  All in the freezer now.

Nice looking marmalade Chookie.

I was given a bag of oranges at the weekend and made a orange cake with one.  They are not very sweet so not sure what to do with the rest.  We don't eat marmalade so that is out.

My rye SD is rising on the heater and I need to make some biscuits.
This is yesterday’s fruit loaf. It’s very nice even if it did bust out. Maybe I rolled it too tight.

I have a friend coming for dinner tomorrow night before we go to a show so I’ve made her an Irish stew, was in the mood to cook today so also made a veggie pasta sauce plus a cheesy leek and potato soup.
