Wonderful competition CC. Thank you for your generosity and good luck to everyone.

I'm Judy and I'm No. 2. I'm a Yorkshire pudding lover so it was a no-brainer as to what I was going to make for this competition in the Thermomix http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9020/best-yorkshire-puddings. These freeze really well, I'll reheat in the a/f.
No, I haven't eaten 2, my 'pour evenly into tins' was a bit heavy handed! Thanks Denise for your generosity and a great competition. I may do something else but will just add it to this post.
Tonight I've made a quick version of Lancashire Hotpot after finding an easy recipe in a book which took me a while to find.

I'm Mab and I am No.3.
Bread & Butter Pudding is always a winter favourite here.
-
I'm JulieO and I'm number 4.
This morning I made some eccles cakes which I haven't made for ages. Only 6 to the batch and I formed them into different shapes.
The filling is very simple; currants, honey, chopped fresh mint and fine orange zest (though I used mandarin today). Really lovely. :D

I'm Sue and I'm number 5.
My DS requested Parkin as his birthday cake this year. http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=9615.msg142115#msg142115 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=9615.msg142115#msg142115)
I've just fortified myself with another slice and a cup of coffee after a boisterous boys sleepover party. I'm too tired to take a decent photo (I really wanted that coffee!)

Hi I am Bootobethin and I am number 6!
I have made Apple sauce. I make a batch every week as it is so versitile and can be sweet or savoury.
This batch has lots of cinnimon in it.
-
At last! I'm Cookie1 and I am number 7.
I have made a Raisin and Port Pie. In 1948 an English couple and their 2 children met my Dad and came to work for him for many, many years. This pie is something Auntie Ada used to make quite frequently, so I am hoping that it is truly English.
I used short pastry for the base and Tenina's vodka and ice puff pastry for the top.

Hi everyone.Just a reminder that the competition closes tomorrow so get your entries posted. :)
-
I am Marina and I am hoping to scrape in at no. 8.
This one was a tough one for me but I managed to whittle it down to three and in the end went for tattie scones. I am hoping to post my image up in a few minutes (it's just a generic one as I haven't made these for a while!).

Hello, I'm lucky No 9 and I have made Eton Mess. My mum made it regularly when I was growing up and I haven't eaten it since. First time for making meringue in TMX too.

The competition is now closed.Good luck everyone.

Today I got a very special postal delivery – the British Isles on a Plate book :) :) :). I haven’t had a chance to even have a sneak preview yet (I have left it in its plastic wrapping so that I can’t be tempted), but I am counting the minutes until we close so that I can get into it.
CC many thanks once again for running this competition, you are such a wonderfully generous lady.
-
Great news Marina.Have fun cooking from the cookbook ;)
-
Congratulations Mab and Marina. I know you will just love this book. CC, it really is most generous of you to do this.
I have many TMX books but this is the only one that I have made 2 recipes from. I am looking forward to making more.
-
My book "British Isles on a Plate" was waiting for me when I arrived home from our holiday yesterday. I did a couple of loads of washing this morning then made myself a cuppa and had a browse. There are some lovely recipes in the book and I can't wait to find time to try them.
Many thanks CC for organizing the competition and I agree with Marina's comments you are a very generous lady.
-
Have fun cooking the new recipes Margaret. :)
