Hello from alyce alexandra!
« on: January 05, 2012, 08:42:02 am »
Hello everyone!

Great to finally be a part of forum thermomix. This really is a fantastic community.

I have been an avid Thermomix user for 7 years now and have fallen so in love with this product that I have written a cookbook for use with this amazing technology. My cookbook, "Quick Fix in the Thermomix", went on sale December 2011 and has so far sold over 400 copies. Three years in the making, this cookbook contains over 100 of my favourite tried and tested recipes accompanied with colour photographs.

For further information please visit: www.alycealexandracookbooks.com

I am excited to be a part of this community and look forward to sharing everyone's Thermomix experiences!

Love alyce xo

Hi alyce, welcome to the forum.  Good luck with your book, I know some of the girls have already ordered it and I expect some reviews will come in once they receive it.

Hello Alyce.  It is good to have you here.  I feel excited that a kind friend gave me a tantalising look through your recipe book.  I loved what I saw but I had to give it back.  Cheerio and please contribute to any other threads you like while we are waiting for the book and then cooking our way through QFITT.

Welcome Alyce. Gosh 7 years with a TMX. You must have been one of the early users like Thermomixer and Karen. I haven't seen your book yet but I'm sure I will. Congratulations on writing it.

To Alyce:

Just a question about the Ginger and Lime Scallop recipe - why do you say remove roe?  With the price of scallops and the attraction being the yin and yang of both white meat and roe, I can't understand your instruction.

Hi Cecilia,

Thank you so much for your question! I find the roe an unappealing texture, and therefore prefer to leave it out of the dish. Although if you like it then please leave to scallop whole - tailor the recipe to your taste buds :) I buy my scallops fresh from the market already without the roe making the dish easy.

All the best and happy cooking!

Welcome Alyce, looking forward to your contribution here  :)

It is interesting to hear your views on scallop roe, as a watcher (some would say addict) of tv cooking shows the practice of removing the roe is quite common.  I am always going oh no wasting the best part once again, it never occurred to me that some people don't like it, especially as here in Tasmania our scallops have quite the reputation for their large bright orange roe.
