Judy I must admit I don't make pasta as often as I used to, mainly because I don't eat much of it myself these days so have been buying the dried stuff when making meals containing it for DH.  I guess it is a luxury item to buy in that case, but I haven't bought anything 'kitcheny' for so long and I know this will be used, even if it's only once a week. Nothing compares to the fresh stuff and the little recipe book that comes with it is nice, so am looking forward to having a go at some of them.

Cookie, I wasn't aware that Kogan have one out too so I can't comment on it, but suggest taking a bit of time to look at reviews/YouTube vids (if there are any) before forming an opionion one way or another.  This is what I did with the Philips.  I got mine from Harvey Norman for $260 and I've just ordered the 2 extra dies to go with.  They should be here early next week if not before. :)

This is the machine and the first lot of pasta. Bit heavy for my liking.  4 eggs, 200g semolina flour, 250 OO flour.
Going to try a different recipe.

The Phillips recipe for egg pasta was 250g flour, 95g liquid (egg & water).  Double the recipe for 4 servings.  I ended up using 500g flour and 3 eggs and topping up to 190g water.  I didn't use semolina as I hadn't replaced it from where I had a pantry moth attack.  I bought more last night so will have a play in the next couple of days.

After improvising , I definitely will get the phillips machine, I made my mix and put it through the Kenwood mincing machine the motor was working overtime to get it out but it was nice but I was frightened I would cook my motor,  I made the second half a bit wetter with another egg it came through better but it all stuck together,  the taste when cooked was nice but not really with the effort.

Julie, thanks for the YouTube link. Both machines are pretty much the same except that the Philips is digital.
I made lasagne using 2 eggs, water and OO flour. Still not good enough.  I like my pasta silky.
I will add the spaghetti to soup and that will be ok. I made a small lasagne in the AF.  Will see what the texture is like when we eat it.
Stacelee, thanks for the recipe.  Will give that a go.
