I think it is good to support the blogs you read and use regularly. I have bought Cooking with Plants new book.
She is an Aussie and I love her recipes. I have been trying to convert to ebooks but I just love the feel of a real book and browsing through it. The kindle isn't quite the same. Some of blog cookbooks I have are so pretty and I use them as decorative pieces around the house.
Have you read PlantPlate Mich?
http://www.plantplate.com/ She too is an Aussie (her mother is a friend of mine) and has just released an ebook on plant based eating for $5 per day. It looks like a great book too.
I have a Facebook page with all things cooking, you'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/What-Amber-Ate-1097437023601587/

I have a credit card Troupie but don't use it unless it is really necessary. I have it mainly for travelling in case we break down or need to fly home all of a sudden.

I bought Nifty too last night, and the calendar last week. Hopefully I should be right until I go to Melbourne and buy Alyce's new book.

Some lovely recipes on that site Jamberie, thankyou again for the link.
Does anyone know where to buy liquid smoke from? I have never cooked with it before.
I looked at buying the book and was a bit disappointed that an Australian would base the $5 a day on US supermarket prices - may still buy it. Even at US prices it would be economical.

I am not sure about sources where you live, Mich, but I got some liquid smoke from one of the stands at Victoria Market in Melbourne ... if you are stuck I can get some for you and send it up.  Let me know.

That's very kind of you Cuilidh. I will try the farmers markets on Sunday and The Essential Ingredient and hopefully one of those will have it.

Hi Michele would that be in a bottle and have flavours like hickory? Not certain but I think I saw some at the place in the picture on this link. Not too far from you I think. We went there recently and one of the guys in the group was a chef and he bought a bottle. http://www.trublutravelling.com.au/#!/explore/nsw/hunter/lovedale

You can buy it in Perth at Kakulas Sisters and no doubt other foodie shops. The bottle I have is branded Tone's Liquid Smoke. Handy stuff and lasts a long time.

Thanks Bonsai, looks like I have a few avenues to follow up.
