Salads here for the rest of the week, not cooking in this weather.

We had pesto pasta ( made in the pasta machine) with roasted pumpkin in the AF, and cooked slices of bacon. A favourite in our house.

Made potato salad , coldslaw , hard boiled eggs ,all to go with steak DH cooked on the BBQue . Out to book club so no cooking for me . It's too hot to do much in the afternoon so may have to cook a roast in BBQue in the morning for cold meat that night .

CC, we don’t often see Quail on sale either.  There is a farm in central Victoria that specialises in them.
They mostly have them for the eggs.  The dressed birds are a real luxury. I  butterflied them and roasted them with potatoes that had been steamed first. I baked them at 180 degrees.  Very tasty but a bit messy to eat.
We have the Quail eggs for sale here too Chookie. They are certainly difficult to peel if you hard boil them.

They sell the quail eggs at the Woodend Farmers Market.   I love the look of them. Must be some trick to peeling them as Maggie Beer used to peel a bucket full at a time.
We will be having leftovers from lunch.

Meat patties and salad here.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

CC this is probably a stupid question, but when you say Chilli does that mean a sort of meat dish that is spicy?

Lunch , Ham salad with bread.  Rye, Laucke white and oat bran.   Friend brought a beautiful trifle.
Didn’t get a chance to make what I had planned.

It was 32 here today but we are having Pea and Ham soup. It is one of the ham bones from Christmas and has been on the stove for about 5 hours. DH made it and DD was going to make foccacia to have with it but forgot!  Plenty of rolls, naan or bread in the freezer.
